😡Watch how these officers are so sure of themselves, only to be proven wrong six minutes later.
😡One officer literally laughs in the handcuffed mans face when he asks what is the 'reasonable articulable suspicion' that he's committed a crime.
On April 18, 2023, Town of Kent (NY) Police Officer Steven Gasparrini and others briefly detained resident Ryan Theodore while he was walking on Warwick Road in his neighborhood.
He was stopped after a nearby resident reported a suspicious white male in a hoodie and gray pants via doorbell camera—someone seen entering yards, knocking on doors, and peering in windows amid local theft reports.
Theodore mildly matched the description.
He refused to identify himself, asked for the reason for the stop, and was handcuffed and placed in a police car for roughly 8 minutes until officers confirmed via photo he was not the person of interest.
He was released with no arrest or charges.
Town Supervisor Jaime McGlasson reviewed the incident (including bodycam, radio traffic, and interviews) and found no wrongdoing, calling it a valid brief investigative stop.
🔸Theodore posted bodycam footage, filed a complaint, and later sued the town, Gasparrini, Chief Kevin Owens, and others in federal court alleging rights violations.
🔸The case (S.D.N.Y. 7:24-cv-05414) has included discovery and summary judgment motions and is still moving through the system.
❓What rights do you actually have when an officer says “You’re being detained” but won’t clearly state the suspicion?
❓Are doorbell cameras creating a new standard of “reasonable suspicion” that didn’t exist ten years ago?
❓At what point does a “brief investigative detention” become an arrest that requires probable cause?

RESIDENTS AT THE RUG MILL:
Have raised ongoing concerns about living conditions that keep getting ignored.
Any issues? They’re told by council to take it up with management—then strung along.
It’s time the public sees this so we can push for real changes with property management and the Boro.
If elected, my experience in apartment management and real estate development means I’ll engage management directly, build a bridge of open communication to fix this quality of life issue, and hold this property management accountable.
This campaign is for everyone and for the people.

Microsoft, $MSFT, XBOX is embracing fan-made game ports instead of fighting them.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma addressed the recent wave of classic games, including community Halo mods, being decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never designed for.
Rather than cracking down, she says she sees potential in “giving old games new life.”
She’s asked Scott to launch Xbox Labs to explore making games easier to access and letting more players become creators.
