So thankful to have met @MarcusLuttrell and @TayaKyle at the @PatriotTourUSA in San Antonio! Truly inspirational.
Fellow web designers and frontend developers, get to know each other well. You both will be dinosaurs in this industry if you don't combine your skill sets. Can't design? Learn to love backend fast. This is isn't an opinion, it's reality and it's already here. Save your career!

Every good Soldier had their days as a soup-sandwich private. Just found proof of mine... my NCO took this picture right before he smoked me. Can you spot why?
I'm just gonna say it... @PlayCODMobile is a huge step in the right direction for mobile gaming.
I bought my kids a Nintendo switch for Christmas and it kills me to see them playing the SAME games on their tablets. I'm like... look how much better it looks on THIS! No dice. Accessibility wins the game. This really got me thinking about the future of gaming.
I'll be trying to show them how cool my monster gaming PC is, and how awesome the power of it is. 5 minutes later, they're playing Roblox on their iPad with a huge smile on their face.
So, I have a confession. More and more as I get older, I've become increasingly interested in mobile gaming. I blame my kids – they've shown me that accessibility will always far outweigh graphics in future generations. They will gravitate toward a phone or tablet instinctually.
Kyle Carpenter jumped onto a grenade to save his fellow Marines. Whenever you ask someone like him why they did it — why they chose to sacrifice themselves — the answer will always boil down to this: “Because they would have done it for me.”
That kind of leadership can not be faked. You can’t just put out a feel-good company statement that claims you put your people first, and then demonstrate the opposite. People will spot it a mile away and the culture will never improve.
The kids always get their face painted for #Fiesta — love their choices this year!
My wife and I are at dinner together. She looks at her phone. A grimace, “You didn’t like my post today...”
I’m staring right at her across the table, “No, I did like it.”
She’s not satisfied, “No, you didn’t LIKE it.”
I’m still staring at her, “I’M TELLING YOU I LIKE IT!!!”
Life has taken so many crazy turns for me in the past few years. Soldier, YouTuber, designer, developer, teacher, public speaker, c-suite positions... all of them a result of pursuing my passions and overcoming adversity. You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Stay driven!
Alright, check it out game devs, I’m done with Battle Royale. It was fun and different as a step away from the norm, but I’ve finally put my finger on my issue with it: the barrier for entry into enjoying the game is too great. Take Apex for example... – at San Antonio, TX
I’d rather have other modes where I can really dig into strategies with shorter periods of time between engagements. THEN, let me play something like Battle Royal. Otherwise, I find myself getting my ass handed to me and thinking, “How long until this is actually fun?” – at San Antonio, TX
