DeFi has $100B+ of uninsured exposure and covers about 0.1% of it.
@Firelightfi, incubated by @SentoraHQ and backed by @FlareNetworks, is building the backstop with staked XRP.

Fintechs and asset managers often ask what happens if a protocol inside the strategy gets exploited.
@Firelightfi gives curators on Upshift a new onchain solution, built on @FlareNetworks wth FXRP.
Live for the Sentora USD and RWA vaults on Upshift today.
Firelight Protocol is now live, with initial cover extended to @SentoraHQ's USD Protected Vault and Protected RWA Vaults.
DeFi now has its missing player: a protection layer for onchain capital.

Just published an essay about the importance of DeFi joining the AI credit markets: medium.com/@jrodthoughts/why…
We are experiencing one of the biggest credit revolutions in history. Is we believe DeFi is the future of finance, it must absolutely be part of this.
Every AI answer begins with someone financing the hardware.
GPUs are purchased today. Customer payments arrive over years. Between those clocks sits a growing credit market.
My latest essay explores why DeFi must become a serious participant—and why AI assets could drive the next wave of RWAs.
The opportunity spans GPU loans, equipment leases, data centers, and compute receivables. These are claims on productive assets and cash flows, with different maturities, risks, and funding needs.
But a transferable token doesn’t make a three-year loan instantly liquid.
AI credit requires committed funding, staged disbursements, amortization, collateral verification, and a plan for defaults. A smart contract cannot walk into a data center and repossess a server.
Investors need enforceable rights and realistic liquidity.
Aave and Morpho provide useful infrastructure. Specialized lenders and servicers must supply the expertise and structures that turn those components into financeable products. Some requirements may justify dedicated protocols.
Early initiatives show this connection is possible. DeFi now needs repeatable transactions and credible performance.
The next RWA wave could help finance new productive capacity, then administer its cash flows as it operates.
AI is building an industrial economy. DeFi needs to earn a place in the financing behind it.

RLUSD/USDS pool averaged approximately $40M in daily trading volume over that period.
Together with @SentoraHQ, Spark connects RLUSD to the FX Layer's shared liquidity network, enabling capital to remain productive between swaps.

I just published a new essay: medium.com/@jrodthoughts/tok… about a new thesis that encapsulates some of our core work at @SentoraHQ. We need to transition from plain tokenization to tokenized assets with real financial utility. We call this DeFi-native RWAs ( but we know we need a better term ;) ).
Here is the idea
You tokenized a fund. The token moves in seconds. The underlying loans still repay over years.
That gap explains why tokenization needs its next chapter: DeFi-Native RWAs.
Putting an asset onchain changes how it is represented. Making it useful as collateral, a source of liquidity, or an input to investment strategies requires much more.
A token can earn yield and still make terrible collateral. Thin markets, stale valuations, restricted transfers, and quarterly redemptions don’t disappear when you deploy a smart contract.
The opportunity is a DeFi Adaptation Layer: infrastructure that connects an asset’s actual behavior with a protocol’s financial promises.
Think funded liquidity reserves, financing aligned with redemption windows, credible pricing, borrowing limits, and eligible liquidators.
The crucial detail: somebody must fund the waiting period. A wrapper cannot turn a quarterly redemption into unconditional instant liquidity. It can organize and finance that mismatch, with explicit costs and risks.
Tokenization brings assets and cash flows. DeFi brings reusable financial applications. The adaptation layer makes selected combinations workable.
In my essay ( medium.com/@jrodthoughts/tok…) , I explore why this transition matters and why some integrations should never make it.
The next milestone: measuring tokenization by the useful financial activity it supports, beyond the assets it records.

Real-world payment credit is moving onchain.
@SentoraHQ’s new PST Vault on Morpho lets PYUSD holders earn yield by lending against PST, @HumaFinance’s yield-bearing asset backed by real-world payment flows, offering a sustainable alternative to the treasury and crypto-collateral-backed yield dominating DeFi.
We break down how it works, where the yield comes from, and the risks behind this new yield primitive.
