When someone is telling you their troubles, the 3 questions you can ask are ⬇️ 1️⃣ “What were you thinking when that happened?” Here’s why 👇 ✳️ Their thoughts will convey what they believe about themselves, about the world, and what an ideal life is. 2️⃣ As they tell you about their feelings, ask “What were you wanting there?” ✳️ Example for anger 👇 “So you got angry at your spouse. What do you think your anger shows you were wanting? What wasn’t she giving you that you felt offended by?” 3️⃣ Help them understand that their response was a choice by asking, “What did you choose to do there?” ✳️ “What were you trying to protect that led to those kinds of decisions?” 💡In these questions, you are helping people build a sense of self-awareness. Here is why that is important 👇 If they can identify the desires behind their actions, you can help them see that God is better. 💬 “Whatever you want to protect, whatever you desire from your spouse, God has something to say that is better than those things.” ✳️ Lead them to this ultimate understanding: You can trust the Lord with what you most desire in life.
