Under a resolution I sponsored that the Senate adopted today, the State Board of Education will be instructed to conduct a study on the impact of implementing maximum caseloads for special education teachers.

Senate Bill 1740 passed the Senate today which initiates the reduction of unnecessary school code mandates agreed upon by statewide educational stakeholders. I'm very proud of the work Senator Edly-Allen and I put into this legislation!

Today in the education committee, students from Senator Belt's district gave testimonies about Senate Resolution 5, which recognizes the work of organizations in educating our youth, parents & schools about remaining safe and vigilant in the rapidly changing online environment.

The Greater Joliet Area YMCA Gala never disappoints! Funds raised benefit the Y’s scholarship assistance program, which helps to ensure that no one is turned away from the YMCA due to the inability to pay. I love supporting this gala and our local YMCA's!
