My message to the MI Dept of Treasury: “Do the people’s work, and if there is money owed to residents of the State of Michigan, get it to them.”
I discussed Treasury's performance this income tax season, and my bill to hold them accountable on @1450whtc .
I joined a group of elected officials to recognize the work of the Canadian Consulate General in Detroit. Our partnership with Canada is critical. Thank you to Colin Bird for his work serving as Consul General, and welcome to Andrea Clements who will now serve in this role.
The @fairlife expansion is a massive investment for MI.
A stronger dairy industry means a stronger network of agricultural suppliers. That means better access and lower costs for producers and lower costs at the grocery store for all of us.

Spent the day up at Camp Grayling for Northern Strike viewing training exercises and demonstrations.
Quite an experience and opportunity to visit the base and interact with our men and women in uniform.
I was honored to join colleagues, friends, and family in celebrating Dr. @GeorgeSmithMSU and his remarkable 29 years of service to @michiganstateu . It was a privilege to present him with a State of Michigan tribute recognizing his outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to MSU, AgBioResearch, and Michigan agriculture. Congratulations on this well-deserved next chapter as Dean of the University of Arizona College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences. Wishing you continued success!

Canadian wildfires are effecting Michigan crops! These Bees should be pollinating a 100 acre squash field today but are currently sedated by Smoke from the Canadian forest fires. No pollination No Squash!
Congratulations to Tim Klunder on 25 years of dedicated service as Zeeland’s City Manager. I was glad to join my colleague Bradley Slagh - State Representative, in offering a state tribute honoring Tim's dedication to the people of Zeeland. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to the community
Last week during budget negotiations, I was able to solve a real problem facing Michigan’s agriculture industry. As we worked to balance our state budget, there was legislation to raid funding that is allocated to preserve our precious farmland. Through negotiations, I was able to successfully lead an amendment to find the funds elsewhere and protect this critical program for Michigan farmers.
The process can be challenging, but as long as I am serving as your State Senator, I will fight for the issues most important to our community.
As we celebrate the 4th of July, we celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in the world and the freedom, opportunity, and values that define us. Happy Independence Day!
As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of our country, we reflect on the history, sacrifice, and enduring values that have carried America forward.
From faith and family to farming, education, and freedom, these are the roots that made our nation strong and will keep it strong for generations to come.
