I spoke at this morning's Mass Municipal Association legislative breakfast about the choices we're facing on Amazon's proposed Prime Air drone delivery service expansion. Westborough has made its voice clear: they do not want dozens of commercial drones flying over their homes.
As leaders, we must now determine our options to change or block this proposal. While Amazon received a nationwide permit from the FAA to operate drones in our airspace, we still have options when it comes to the permits allowing drones to take off & land in our communities.
Worcester is becoming a global hub for advanced life sciences research, with organizations like Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) helping to kickstart innovative companies based in and creating jobs for communities throughout Central Mass.

This is no accident – Worcester's success story is the result of a deliberate partnership between government and industry to promote our incredible cities and towns as the home of the next great scientific breakthrough.
Yesterday's UCANE briefing highlighted the importance of investing in our aging water infrastructure. It can be hard to imagine the day when we turn on the tap and nothing comes out, but if we fail to keep up with service & maintenance, that day might come sooner than you think.
With the midterms right around the corner, let's talk about Question 9 in the final part of an informational series on the ballot questions voters will see this year.
✅ A 'yes' vote would make no changes to MA law – the 2024 firearm safety law remains in place.
❎ A 'no' vote would repeal the 2024 gun safety law, rolling back current red flag laws, ghost gun restrictions, and bump stock bans.
How would dozens of Amazon Prime Air delivery drones flying above Central Mass affect our neighborhoods, landscapes, and wildlife? We dont know – and neither does Amazon, because they have not done an environmental assessment.

Thank you to Sen Elizabeth Warren, Sen Edward Markey, Rep Jim McGovern, and Rep Lori Trahan for urging Amazon to work with the FAA to dig into the environmental impacts of the company's drone proposal.
Just three weeks until the midterms! In the second-to-last part of my informational series on the nine ballot questions voters will weigh in on in November, let's talk about Question 8.
✅ A 'yes' vote would repeal the adult-use cannabis law and make retail sales illegal beginning in 2028.
❎ A 'no' vote would make no changes to MA law – cannabis would remain legal for adults.
The residents that came to the last Westborough Planning Board meeting spoke with one voice: they do not want Amazon Prime Air delivery drones flying in the skies above their homes.
Rep Kane, Rep Donaghue, and I sent a letter to Amazon asking the company to pause their drone delivery proposal until their plan better addresses my constituents' noise, safety, and privacy concerns.
