For over six years, Valov Brothers Farms in Corcoran, CA has used Semios automated pheromone emitters to disrupt NOW populations in their most vulnerable blocks.
“NOW is a problem, and you can’t fully rely on sprays. Semios’ emitters serve as a critical technology to disrupt populations throughout the year, especially if a tight harvest window forces us to get to certain blocks a bit later.” – Jimi Valov

Happy World Food Day from the Semios Group!
Today we celebrate the growers, agronomists, and advisors who feed the world, season after season.
It’s been a busy couple days for the Semios Group team! Last Friday, we joined students at the Bakersfield College’s Agriculture Career Expo & Manufacturing Day. It was a great opportunity to connect with the next generation and show them some of the exciting career options agriculture offers in Kern County.
Then on October 11, we headed to the CAPCA Annual Conference in Anaheim, where we spent three great days with PCAs and ag professionals, catching up on the latest in the industry and ways we're helping support the challenges they’re facing in the field.
It’s great being out in the community, and we look forward to connecting with more of you at upcoming events!

Agriculture doesn’t lack technology. The challenge is turning it into better day-to-day operations.
Across the Semios Group (Agworld, Semios, Altrac and Greenbook), we bring together farm management software, in-field monitoring and control, and trusted crop input data, connecting what’s happening in the field with the decisions that follow.

The latest Faces of Semios spotlight is on our Southern California Territory Manager, Dominic Fanucchi!
Dominic grew up in a Bakersfield pistachio farming family, tagging along with his dad and grandpa in the orchard from the age of 6. In first grade, he wrote that he wanted to be "a farmer just like my grandpa." After a stint in the construction equipment industry, he realized how much he missed the people in ag and industry’s people and purpose, and found his way back.
Today, he uses his hands-on experience from the grower side to help growers make more informed decisions and protect their crops.
Fun fact: 🎣 Dominic once reeled in a 115-pound bluefin tuna off the coast of San Diego!

In our latest Faces of Semios spotlight, meet Justin Pearson, our Territory Manager for Washington!
Coming from a small town outside Wenatchee, Justin did all sorts of odd jobs on farms growing up. From a young age, he thought he'd never end up in ag, but his winding career path eventually brought him right back home to the ag community.
Now in his seventh year at Semios, Justin leverages his previous field operations experience as Branch Manager to help growers navigate the complexities of the Washington tree fruit industry with the right tech solutions.
Fun fact: 🎣 When he's not in the field, Justin is a passionate outdoorsman. He once landed a massive 10-foot white sturgeon!

This year, we’re seeing an accelerated development of California Red Scale (CRS) caused by the higher temperatures. This is raising concerns about an earlier 4th generation and the possibility of a 5th generation.
Using data from our network of weather stations, we broke down the following on our blog:
- How CRS DD accumulation stands today across California
- What’s the average DD accumulation by key counties
- How this year’s DD accumulation compares with previous years
