Musk's super PACs have now spent over $400 million to buy the midterm elections.
This campaign is not just about Democrats vs. Republicans.
It’s about whether the world’s first trillionaire can buy our government.
Say NO to Musk. Say NO to oligarchy. Say yes to democracy.

The guy who bailed out his Wall Street donors as they threw 10 million families out of their homes is now chiding “the left” for making materialist arguments about improving people’s economic situation rather than telling morality stories. Truly unreal.

Really shocking how confused, vague, simplistic and at times unhinged Huang is in this podcast. My god this does not bode well.

The Human Personification Of Political Corruption says he wants to stop the culture of corruption that he created, assuming literally not one single person in media will ask him about how he helped create that culture of corruption.
Washington needs a good power washing top to bottom. Five things I would do today to end corruption in Washington across all three branches of government:
1. Ban all stock trading.
2. Ban all participation in prediction markets.
3. Mandatory retirement at 75 years old.
4. Mandatory blind trust for individuals with a net worth more than $1 million.
5. Ban all foreign gifts to public officials, including foreign investments in their businesses or other entities.

Tens of thousands of Americans die every year because they cannot afford to go to the doctor. Unacceptable.
I asked Trump's FDA nominee Heidi Overton if she believes healthcare is a human right.
Her answer was not surprising.

Some very useful information/research here exposing the internal Democratic Party battle between corporatists and populists. This battle is going to become the main event in the 2028 presidential primary. Follow this account and check out their website. Super useful.
NEW: In 2024, Wes Moore went on a limb siding with Reid Hoffman and other big donors who wanted Lina Khan out at the FTC.
Hoffman has backtracked, but Moore still won’t answer questions about Lina Khan - and he’s been asked, repeatedly.

It's great to see economist @JustinWolfers making the case that AI has given new urgency to the case for universal basic income, calling it "a payment society is owed rather than a form of redistribution."
He says the tech companies created a few lines of code while it was the rest of society that created all the world’s knowledge those AI models were trained on, and that we never charged them for it.
Everyone who agrees with this should sign the aipledgeforhumanity.org. We should ALL benefit.

Back in 2003, a German film crew filming in the Gobi Desert captured an incredibly moving moment: after a tough two-day birth, a mother camel rejected her newborn. A nomadic family then performed the ancient Hoos singing ritual passed down for generations. Once the song ended, the camel shed tears and finally accepted her baby. This powerful scene became one of the most memorable parts of the Oscar-nominated documentary The Story of the Weeping Camel.

The case for basic income keeps widening. Income security isn't just about poverty or work: reducing financial stress in childhood may have lasting health benefits too. UBI means investing in people before crisis, rather than paying for the damage afterwards.
Turns out that being born with a basic income of $333/mo and living with it for the first 4 years of life results in slightly slower biological aging. Because slower aging predicts longer, healthier lives in adults, this suggests UBI from birth could mean longer lives and lower healthcare costs.
