Brief fighting erupted between ENDF and TPLF forces near Kobo, closing the Kobo–Alamata road temporarily. The 30–40-minute clash reportedly involved no heavy weapons. Coming two weeks after Shererina, it signals increasingly unstable frontlines and a risk of wider escalation.
Isolating Brigade N’Hamedu and making it dependent on Ethiopian political space may win today’s propaganda battle. It won’t secure reliable access to the Red Sea or address Eritrean fears over sovereignty.
Let’s not package the same conflict for a fourth.

The mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries are not directed against anyone. Our shared objective is to promote the mutual benefit of both nations and countries.
In Hargeisa, I made it clear:
