had a local patch for some crash and CallKit bugs in the Twilio Voice React Native SDK. figured others are running into the same issues so I opened a few PRs with the fixes you can just do things @twilio

The whole point of React Native is to share one codebase between Android and iOS instead of maintaining two separate codebases for the same app. Even if AI makes native development easier, you still have to maintain two implementations, which means duplicated effort and wasted time. Your post is missing the point.
After building a completely working iOS app with Codex last night it’s pretty clear that there’s absolutely no reason to use React Native anymore in 2026

I am in love with Omalauncher! Built a custom Android widget… entirely from my phone, in a dentist's waiting room. No laptop. Just the @cursor_ai Agent installed on my phone. Made a dead-simple Gmail widget that only shows my last 3 important emails so I stop drowning in the inbox every morning. Felt the pure “I just made this” dopamine of the pre-AI era again. Except this time the AI was in my pocket.

Oh man, I remember flashing custom ROMs on the bus to school, praying through every bootloop like my entire life depended on that next reboot 😂 Those were the days! But man, this new era is something else!
Smartphones (pocket computers) will never be the same again. This is wild and I love it. My mind is racing at the possibilities.

I keep seeing more reasons to stay on React Native, than moving to “Native”. This is one of them: JS running across multiple runtimes and cores without blocking the UI. For most apps today, a native rewrite looks like the worst bet. What’s still missing?
Trying to visualize the benefit react-native-worklets It's not super readable and needs polishing but it looks amazing already 🤩 This simulation is actually executing the code snippet, we could add it for free on every Worklets' docs page explaining how a given API works 🤓

Got bored of losing my keys. So I built my own lock app. Hold to unlock. Haptic when the bolt moves. Relocks in 5 seconds because I still forget. @expo haptics: @swmansion Pulsar

This lock talks to the phone over Bluetooth. Hold to unlock → command sent → haptic when the real bolt slides.

I can’t imagine testing my apps without Argent anymore. Update a component and it automatically checks every screen that uses it - including the ones I’d forgotten about
Argent can now control physical iPhones over USB 🍎 ~/ npx @swmansion/argent init

Anyone using @msftClarity in production mobile apps? Loving the session insights so far, but reviewing all the raw data collected is… a lot. How are you handling the volume / filtering what actually matters? Any tips or best practices?

AI can save you a day. A deep understanding of code can save you $2,000 in tokens when the AI hits a wall.
Software engineering hasn't changed at its core. It's still hard to learn and it still takes years. What changed is that you can now produce software without understanding how it works. If you're early in your journey, don't outsource everything. Learn the underlying technology, what good code looks like, and the why behind the decisions. Stay curious. I know that's hard when AI finishes the task in five minutes and doing it by hand costs you a day. Treat that day as an investment. It's what lets you move faster later. If you're an experienced engineer who's been hesitant to try AI, start with the boring stuff: tests, code reviews, small CLI tools, slides. Things you already know how to do and don't enjoy doing.

Telegram now has a Rich Text Editor. It supports tables, headings, inline media, lists, AI content, formulas, and more. Available only to Premium subscribers, because otherwise we’d have to call it Poor Text Editor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Today’s task: patching a third-party Android package to satisfy the 16KB requirement… because the vendor refuses to. This is not how dependencies should work 😤

This is getting ridiculous! Not only did Google remove my app from the Android Store without prior warnings, but now users who already had the app are being told that it’s "stealing their SMS, images, and other user data." LOL!

They claim the app is "uploading users image information without a prominent disclosure." Absolutely untrue. We’ve always respected user privacy and followed best practices. No prior warnings, no chance to resolve, and now our reputation is being dragged through the mud.

You know that feeling when you accidentally pushed the iOS app with tablet support enabled, and now there's no way to disable it without removing the app from the store... 🥲 #ios

In @Expo Router v4 you can easily turn routes into native bottom sheets. Works on both iOS, and Android.
