This is one of the most awful ideas I've ever seen from YouTube. Yes, it might seem cool at first but what stops me from starting an A/B test with a completely different video and ending it instantly. What happens if I A/B test a long form video on a short? What happens if one of them has copyrighted music/video? This seems like a fundamentally flawed idea.

You will soon be able to upload 3 thumbnails to a video to personalise the experience for each viewer.

Artists aren't hacked. Someone is just distributing art tracks through a distributor to their topic channels. This is intended behaviour.

This is the dumbest change I have ever seen and I REALLY hope this doesn't end up moving to long form videos.

The YouTube Shorts experience is evolving to be more intuitive and to better curate your feed. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 coming: 鉂わ笍Use a sleek Heart icon to show videos some love. 馃幆 Tune your feed with more precise curation tools, like 'Not Interested' as we retire the dislike button. 馃ЪStrip away distractions with 'Clear Screen' mode so you can focus entirely on the video. 鈴￤atch faster with highly requested speed settings so you find your favorite part more quickly.

YouTube has changed it so the "Moderator" badge now shows in comments.

Fun fact: You also get a @googlemail.com email which forwards to your inbox!
Peter Agboola@baba_OmoloroFeb 17
Gmail does not consider dots as characters. For instance, pagboola@gmail.com, p.a.g.b.o.o.l.a@gmail.com, and pa.gboola@gmail.com are treated as the same. This means adding dots (.) anywhere in a Gmail username will still deliver the email. Additionally, Gmail ignores anything after a plus sign. For instance, emails sent to pagboola+twitter@gmail.com and pagboola+instagram@gmail.com will go to pagboola@gmail.com.

I hate how normalised gambling has become. Casinos are literally designed to trick you and yet we victim blame the people who fall for it. Prediction markets take the smallest difference in opinions and then throw the thing a lot of people care about most at it (money).

As of recently, this appears to have rolled out to everyone. RIP SMS verification sites.

New @Google account creation flow that's being tested: - This system requires you to send a text to verify your account as opposed to receving one. - This is likely to prevent online SMS services where you can mass buy phone numbers. I've attached some more images below.
A large heading that says "Scan QR Code to verify your phone number" with small text to the right saying "To continue, scan the QR code with your phone. You will then use your phone to continue the verification process." with a qr code under it.

If you're having trouble, scan the QR code again with your phone. After scanning, follow the steps on your phone in order to complete the verification." with a qr code underneath.

Appears to be fixed but profile pictures are still broken if we can have that fixed too!

Hey @Google//@TeamYouTube//@YouTube//@YouTubeInsider you somehow seem to have managed to break adding people to BrandAccounts. The "Invite new users" button quite literally does nothing. Is there any chance we can have this fixed so we can add people to channels again? Thanks!

Had my google workspace account banned about a year ago @GoogleWorkspace @AskWorkspace and the support I recieved was worse then a gmail user. There's still no way to download my data and my bug report telling you that it's illegal to not let users export their data was moved to a private section then silently closed. Please either: Let me back in to my GWorkspace Account Let me download my data off my gworkspace. I still have 5 years of emails I can't access. I can't send emails out from that domain to other workspace users even when using a different email service as the original one is still "disabled".

Fun Fact: YouTube forces profile pictures to be jpegs despite the fact changing one letter could save probably petabytes of bandwidth. (Currently it's -rj, -rw forces webp) Want to fix it @YouTubeInsider @YouTube @Google @googlecloud?
stupid tech takes@stupidtechtakes2 Nov 2025
webp files are 1/3 the size of equivalent PNGs. you will save a significant amount of time by cutting every 1MB image down to 300kb, especially on image-heavy websites.

They could also remove some flags in it to allow for transparent profile pictures and animated! For less bandwidth.
