I spent 100s of hours building a prospect model for the DSL.
It now has a 44/51 hit rate (86.3%) from 2006~2025.

Diego Frontado was awarded the Brewers Complex Player of the Month award for August 🏅
Frontado’s 13 games finished off a stellar age-17 season where he had a .978 OPS, hit 10 home runs, walked more than he struck out (37 BB to 30K) and hit over half of his BIP in the air while making some great defensive plays in the infield🔥

New today on Prospect Savant: Aggregate organizational data is now available for 2023-2026. Can be used to get a better idea of an organizational drafting/developing style, and what stats teams emphasize.
18 yo Single-A hitters in the last 20 years to satisfy these thresholds (min. 50 PA):
> 6'1" | < 20% K% | > .200 ISO | > .350 OBP
- Yostin Peña📽️
- Walker Jenkins
- Manny Machado
- Freddie Freeman
Tall, suppresses K%, and possesses immense power.
Peña only has 86 PA in Single-A, but he's my #4 DSL prospect from summer!
Encouraging to see elite performance out of the gate.

The #Padres' gold affiliate in the Dominican Summer League wins 4-2 over the #Reds on Saturday in Game 3 of the finals. First team to win back-to-back DSL titles since the Rangers in 2013-14 and they continued to surge after trading away Joniel Hernandez in Robbie Ray deal.

The DSL Cup Finals will be between the DSL Reds and the DSL Padres Gold!
The Reds are the sole undefeated team in the postseason with a 5-0 record, lead by top prospect Angel Nuñez.
The DSL Angels Red remain undefeated in the postseason, going up 1-0 (best of 3) against Jaider Suárez and the DSL Royals Fortuna.
Angel Nuñez was the clear standout, going 2-4 with a double, triple, walk, and 2 SB.
Joniel Hernandez belts his second HR of the postseason!
It wasn't enough to win the game though, and the DSL Padres Gold go up 1-0 (best of 3). Dawry Guerrero was the hero of the day, batting in all 5 of the Padres' runs.
Joniel Hernandez is set to face off against his former team, the DSL Padres Gold, in the semifinals.
What an incredible continuation of a roller coaster season for the 17 year old phenom!
OBP leaders among 5'10"+ 17 yo DSL CF (<20% BB%):
Helvin Mendoza: .495👀
Eduardo Quintero: .472
Francisco Renteria: .470
Angeibel Gomez: .467
Mendoza (#Dodgers) showed much less power than the other 3, but the upside is tremendous.
