Current dating discourse that blames men for all dating problems while treating women as innocent victims reminds me of 2020 when women moved left by 30 points while men hardly moved, and people said the political gap between men and women was men's fault for being too right wing

This is just 5% of Roche's metabolic pathways chart. If you insist a baseline human understand the precise mechanics of some of the AI treatments that are coming, you will be waiting forever.
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.

Not only has the US never televised public executions in its history, but not even the Nazi defendants sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials had their executions televised (it was deemed violative of the human rights that post-WW2 institutions were trying to re-establish). The most amazing part of this is that Nidal Hasan is paraplegic and close to 60. So this disgusting spectacle will involve rolling him out in a wheelchair, then live-streaming his body as it's pumped full of bullets. When I and others pointed out last night that public executions are carried out only by the countries we're told are the most primitive and savage (Afghanistan, North Korea), MAGA enthusisasts replied that we were too weak. Pummeling an old guy in a wheelchair with bullets -- as a reality TV show -- seems like an odd and dubious defintion of "strength," let alone an expression of the western values they endlessly claim they and they alone are trying to salvage.

"I'm a plumber, robotics won't catch up for another decade or two, I'm safe" Oh yeah? What about when the supply of plumbers multiplies 10x because it's one of the few buoyant occupations? You better be the Gordon Ramsay of plumbing

If you're gatekeeping advancements in your industry because "they have to be solved by humans" you're an asshole. The goal isn't for you to get credit, the goal is to move humanity forward. If you don't want cancer to be cured because AI would get the credit, get over yourself.

The latest gen of models as of 3 weeks ago are extremely good at understanding binary. This is making it super easy to create mod files, decomp games, and recomp games. At the rate of improvement, basically every game is going to be effectively open source in the future.

I'm noticing Westerners are continously having lower standards every year and seem to not even notice the declining quality standards of everything around them I do notice it and when I tell them (IRL or on here) they make me sound jaded or disconnected from reality as if we expect too much They're literally boiling the frog and most don't notice it Then we fly out to Switzerland, UAE or East and parts of South East Asia and we realize there's nothing to complain about so it's not us, it's the West
"Enshittification" is a sort of "safe horny" term for what is really just outright impoverishment and declining living standards due to economic insolvency from deindustrialization, demographic decline, hyperinflation, etc. You are just de-developing and becoming poor.

I worked for this company in 2011. Their game was to be the only marketplace in town and use oligopoly power to maximize margin by charging obscenely and pushing creator payouts to $0. Today, obliterated by AI. The NYSE is delisting them. Karma does catch up, occasionally.

There's a perilous inversion happening wherein men actually know a lot about female nature and women know almost nothing about the minds of men, while our culture insists precisely the opposite.

New Atheism seems to have contained two broad types of people: Rationalists and Resisters. The former approached the question of God's existence as an empirical one, while the latter approached it as a way to resist what they perceived as an oppressive construct. The Resisters — who, unlike the Rationalists, usually seemed to have been raised in religious households — were naturally drawn to other movements (like wokeness) that seemed to be all about resisting oppressive constructs (like "white supremacy" and "systemic racism"). The Rationalists (e.g., Dawkins, Pinker and Hitchens) made important contributions to the cultural and political discourse. The Resisters ended up doing little more than projecting their own rage and mouthing fashionable boilerplate.

WTF I was on a plane for 10 hours. Within 10 hours OpenAI released a blogpost that their newly trained model solved 100(!!) open long standing math problems that even surprised their own resecaher. MiMo released an amazing model and Grok 4.7 underperformed. I’ll never take a plane again. Ever. (Ok, not true).
I was too quick and excited when landed in SF. As most of you pointed out the real deal is actually MiMo-2.6! Better than Grok 4.7, much cheaper and holy moly is china back. That is the real surprise! I need to check that out. Message to chubby: next time checking x properly before posting :D

Greg Brockman says OpenAI pointed Astra at its own systems until it ran out of vulnerabilities to find: "We took 25% of our production engineers and said, 'Sorry, all your projects are on hold. You are now defending. You are now up-leveling our security architecture. You're going to use the models to find all the holes.' And we found a number of serious issues, and we fixed them." "We found some new problems, but eventually it saturated. We basically have found, to our knowledge, all of the P0s, all of the critical problems that Astra is smart enough to find. And of course, there will be a new model, there will be a new round." "You want to be in this tight loop of new cyber capability drops, you deploy it against your systems, you find the new holes, and ideally, you've managed to automate this, what we call defense factory. That's what we're building internally." "There are ideas, for example, formally verifying all of software, that are possible with AI." @gdb @bhorowitz
Greg Brockman: "We're now in the AGI era." Ten years ago, OpenAI worked out the compute curves and landed on fifteen years to AGI, or ten if the world was willing to build the machines and spend the hundreds of billions to do it. In 2026, GPT-6 Astra manages 24 hours of coherent operation, 10,000 agents worked together to solve Navier-Stokes, and a model ingeniously chained together exploits to break containment at Hugging Face. @gdb joins @bhorowitz and @eriktorenberg on what the AGI era asks of us: why safety and alignment now set the pace, what happens to work, and why AI sentiment is lowest in the country building it. 00:00 Intro 00:52 15 years, or 10 if you spend enough 02:24 Pacing the frontier 03:55 Safety ideas from before the models 08:42 Lessons from Hugging Face 10:20 The defender's window 12:46 10,000 agents on Navier-Stokes 14:50 Formally verifying all software 17:10 Cancelling his holiday for GPT-3 18:42 Codex found 13 holes in 15 minutes 20:41 Why Astra earned the GPT-6 title 24:25 Employment keeps going up 29:39 America has the lowest AI sentiment 31:10 The benefits don't make the news 33:26 Banning data centers exports them 35:50 $1 billion for frontline defenders 38:15 Astra cleared the bar for AGI 40:18 1.5 billion people churned ChatGPT 43:25 Killing Sora 47:45 The AGI era YouTube: youtube.com/watch?v=IJn8cagM…

This is very interesting and expected European governments and thus the EU too is losing lots of tax income from Europeans fleeing Next on the agenda is the European Exit Tax and after that I think they will try to add Worldwide Income Tax (like the US already has) meaning it doesn't matter where you live in the world as a European citizen, the EU will tax you for your entire income! It's the only way for the EU to stop the financial drain of so many high skilled Europeans physically leaving and setting up companies or finding better paying opportunities elsewhere due to the EU's anti-business regulation And their increasing expenses of paying social welfare for low quality and low IQ mass immigration they brought in which didn't have the payback they expected!
This is brutal — the EU is forcing banks outside the EU to stop providing core banking services to EU residents, unless those banks set up a licensed branch inside the EU. Note that what matters is your residence, not your passport — an EU citizen who is tax resident elsewhere is not affected. If you want to avoid trouble opening an account with any non-EU bank in the future, I recommend securing residency outside the EU (we'll gladly help with Paraguay, Uruguay or Panama). As an EU resident, you may already run into problems opening a bank account outside the EU from next year. EU Directive 2024/1619 ("CRD VI") introduces a new Article 21c. From 11 January 2027, it prohibits banks established outside the EU from providing core banking services — including deposit-taking — to clients established or situated in the European Union, unless the bank operates a licensed branch in the relevant member state.
