Parents of academy kids, how many times a day do you reckon you tell people you’re kid is at an academy?

I see development centres are now getting into schools to promote their scam.

See the new thing is grassroots clubs getting these companies in to do the coaching. What’s the point? Grassroots is on its arse

Any of these 1-1 companies teach defending? Or is it just scanning a mannequin to then receive and take 10 seconds to curl a shot to the far corner of the net with no GK in? #frauds

We had a game Sunday grassroots game next to an academy training pitch. Little awkward to find if you don’t know the area. Got asked for directions 3 times, all 3 parents had to tell me their kid was playing for an academy, it’s like Tourette’s

Grassroots coaches can’t get a text back from a parent regards to availability 🙄 Academy side tell you you’ve got a match on the outside lane of the M1 at 4am and you are on it like a tramp on a Big Mac 😦 Odd #grassrootsfootball

“There’s a big scramble now. Everyone has realised that, yes, £1m or £2m sounds really expensive as a fee when you sign an academy player, but they just have to be Championship level or above and you could make a huge profit. It’s a business within a business.” The uneasy truce is over between the biggest academies in England. For many years, there was an unofficial agreement between the big clubs in the Premier League that they would not try to sign players from each others’ academies. It was an agreement that was occasionally violated, but the ‘Big Six’ co-existed relatively peacefully. Now, no player is off the table. The Athletic has spoken to dozens of sources inside English academies and at player agencies to find out what is happening in academy recruitment and why there has been such an upsurge in players moving between big clubs. 📝 @JordanC1107 🔗 nyti.ms/4xTkXk5

There are lots of people who know how non-league football works above and beyond the team management level who do not have podcast platforms. Mostly these people are not controversial enough to be "interesting". Sensationalism sells. This is the currency of the modern world.
