AGNIVEER SCHEME REVIEW – EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES & BETTER CAREER OPTIONS FOR YOUTH
📍 The upper age limit, initially 21 years, was revised to 22 years to make the scheme more inclusive and provide opportunities to more youth, particularly those pursuing technical qualifications.
📍 The present review aims to make the scheme more robust, resilient and aligned with the present and future requirements of the Armed Forces. It is based on Service requirements and the enthusiasm shown by Agniveers.
AGNIVEER SCHEME: IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS
1. Service Tenure & Career Options
* Initial Agnipath engagement: 4 years.
* Under the reviewed arrangement, eligible Agniveers may get an additional 2-year Tour of Duty, making the total engagement up to 6 years.
* Option to exit with honour after 4 years.
* Option to exit after 6 years.
* Opportunity to join the Regular Cadre if selected after meeting the prescribed standards.
* Regular Cadre selection is neither automatic nor guaranteed for everyone.
2. Selection into the Regular Cadre
* Under the initially mandated scheme, 25% absorption into the Regular Cadre was provided for.
* The Extended Tour of Duty aims to give other eligible Agniveers an opportunity to improve their performance and meet the required standards.
* Final selection will be based on objective criteria at the end of the second Tour of Duty.
* Discipline, medical fitness and standards prescribed by the respective Service HQs will be important.
* After enrolment into the Regular Cadre, seniority, promotion and pension benefits will be governed by applicable existing policies.
* Provisions are being developed to protect the seniority of eligible Agniveers absorbed into the Regular Cadre in relation to their junior batches.

सेवा का गौरव • कौशल की ताकत • उज्ज्वल भविष्य की राह
1. सेवा अवधि में विस्तार का अवसर
अग्निपथ योजना के तहत प्रारंभिक सेवा अवधि 4 वर्ष है, जिसमें अतिरिक्त 2 वर्ष की सेवा का अवसर भी शामिल है, इसके बाद निर्धारित मापदंडो के आधार पर उन्हें Regular Cadre में शामिल करने का प्रावधान है।
2. कुल 6 वर्ष तक सेवा का अवसर
अग्निवीरों को कुल 6 वर्ष तक सेवा करने का अवसर मिलता है, जिसमें 4 और 6 साल बाद सम्मानजनक रूप से बाहर निकलने का विकल्प।
3. Regular Cadre में शामिल होने का अवसर
प्रारंभिक योजना के अनुसार 25% अग्निवीरों को निर्धारित चयन प्रक्रिया एवं मानदंडों के आधार पर नियमित कैडर में शामिल करने का प्रावधान है।
4. पारदर्शी चयन प्रक्रिया
अनुशासन, मेडिकल फिटनेस, प्रदर्शन एवं निर्धारित वस्तुनिष्ठ मानदंडों के आधार पर चयन।
5. आकर्षक Seva Nidhi Package
4 वर्ष की सेवा पूरी करने पर पात्र अग्निवीरों को लागू शर्तों के अधीन लगभग ₹11.74 लाख का Seva Nidhi Package।
6. आर्थिक एवं आत्मनिर्भरता का आधार
Seva Nidhi उच्च शिक्षा, कौशल विकास, स्वरोजगार एवं उद्यमिता की दिशा में नई संभावनाएं खोलती है।
7. आधुनिक सैन्य प्रशिक्षण
Discipline, Leadership, Teamwork और Physical Fitness के साथ Weapon Systems, Communication, Surveillance एवं Security Skills का व्यावहारिक अनुभव।
8. शिक्षा एवं कौशल प्रमाणन
Skill Certificates तथा पात्रता के अनुसार Graduation और आगे की शिक्षा के अवसर।
9. भविष्य के रोजगार में लाभ
सैन्य अनुभव, तकनीकी दक्षता और अनुशासन भविष्य में रोजगार, तकनीकी क्षेत्रों एवं उद्यमिता के लिए उपयोगी आधार बन सकते हैं।
10. Extended Service का अवसर
दूसरे Tour of Duty से संबंधित उपलब्ध जानकारी के अनुसार दिसंबर 2026 तक के भर्ती बैचों के लिए लागू प्रावधानों की जानकारी संबंधित आधिकारिक दिशा-निर्देशों से प्राप्त करें।
