Left Tackle has definitely been a learning curve. Getting different defensive looks each week has been pretty helpful and pretty fun. Trey Irving has been named MACCC Offensive Player of the Week! #PR1DE #emccfootball The sophomore quarterback was responsible for 328 yards of total offense and three TDs to spark the Lions' decisive 44-3 home win over Pearl River. Along with completing 26-of-33 (79%) passes for 277 yards and two TDs (no INTs), Irving added a team-leading 51 rushing yards in six attempts against the Wildcats, including a 46-yard TD keeper on his second carry of the contest. He completed passes to 12 different EMCC players in the game. Irving particularly sparkled in the opening half by completing 15-of-17 (88%) passes for 183 yards, while also adding 49 rushing yards, with all three of his touchdowns coming during the first two quarters as the Lions raced to a 34-3 halftime advantage over PRCC.

Not gonna lie, this loss hurt but we battled until the very end. Came down to just an extra point. Got to do a lot more run blocking this game and it felt great to get back to my favorite part of the game. Still plenty to work on. 1% better everyday. Every L comes with Lessons Learned. Best way to learn is through experience. Got to play a tough and physical team out of Holtville CA on Friday that ran on pure aggression. Lots of blitzing and stunts. Guys were bruisers and a bit unconventional but it made for a great way to improve against something new. Found some weaknesses for me to work on but also happy with how my left guard and I worked together. Team played great together and had a great rebound from last week. Looking forward to Friday already.
