Nobel prize winner explaining that you can't hypothesize something that's never been discovered before. You need to explore, and then find the basis for your discovery. #glycotime #Nobel @IAmDrDex
“Bertozzi says the freedom to pursue an unlikely observation made the glycoRNA discovery possible. ‘That’s what HHMI provided,’ she said. ‘If I were a junior scientist who stumbled into this and put out an NIH grant, we’d get laughed out of the study section.’” #glycotime #Nobel

(1) In our new Nature paper a universal 'domino effect' mechanism of complex I is proposed. Our previous version developed for mammalian complex is now elaborated by studies in E.coli. Mechanism is now much more detailed but robust. A thread.
