A pair of Stonechats gave some superb views in front of Dunlin Hide at @RutlandWaterNR today
Popped up to @RutlandWaterNR this morning for a duo of American waders. The Lesser Yellowlegs posed nicely from Shoveler Hide. The Pectoral Sandpiper on Lagoon 2 was rather more distant
Enjoyable morning at Wilstone Reservoir. Garganey, Whinchat, Great White Egret & Hobbies the birding highlights. 3 Chinese Water Deer in front of the hide and what I think is the feral Emperor Goose that’s occasionally been seen with the Canada Goose flock
First opportunity to grab a post-match chat with the new @NorthwoodFC manager @Scottyp1 after today’s hard fought 1-0 win against @NorthLeigh_FC. Great to see us start to move away from near the foot of the table #UpTheWoods🪵
Replying to @Scottyp1
@Scottyp1 with his views after the first win a Woods manager, asking the questions @SeaninPinner

Bridges of Ross quieter this morning with change in wind-direction. Sabines Gull, 3 Bonxies, 14 Leach’s Petrel & 50 Sooty Shearwaters the highlights. We heard a Lapland Bunting near the lighthouse at Loop Head. Whimbrel, Pintail, Golden Plover seen elsewhere
Full days sea-watching at Bridges of Ross. My totals were 2 Long Tailed Skua, 1 Pom, 3 Bonxies, 10 Arctics, 2 Sabines Gulls, 2 Great Shearwaters, 40 Sooty Shearwaters, 100 Grey Phalaropes, 80 Leach’s Petrels, 1 Black Tern & 1 Puffin. Superb day!
Transit day from Kerry to Clare. It’s Ireland, we had torrential rain most of the day so difficult birding conditions. A few nice birds in different locations included 2 Arctic Skuas, 2 Peregrine, Curlew Sandpiper, Ruff, 4 Razorbills & a Red Throated Diver
A feature of the first couple of days in Kerry have been the Choughs, which have been offering up some great views
Day two in Kerry with @OrioleBirding & the Buff-breasted Sandpiper was rather closer than it was last night.
Terrific first full day in County Kerry, Ireland with @OrioleBirding. Semi-Palmated & Buff-Breasted Sandpipers were both lifers for me. Chough, Curlew Sandpiper, Black Guillemot & Arctic Terns were among the other highlights, Sanderlings also very photogenic
An impressive supporting cast at Wilstone Reservoir this morning inc 3 Hobby, Ferruginous Duck, Greenshank, 3 Curlew, Ringed & Little Ringed Plover, Common & Green Sandpipers, 3 Yellow Wagtail & a Snipe #hertsbirds @Hertsbirds
Bird of the morning for me at Wilstone Reservoir this morning was a Whinchat which perched up briefly on the jetty edge at 8:15am. A patch tick for me #hertsbirds @Hertsbirds
Decent morning at Staines Reservoir - Curlew Sandpiper, Little Stint, Greenshank, Ruff, Dublin, Blackwit, Ringed Plover, Common & Green Sandpiper, 3 Black Necked Grebes, 4 Black Terns & a Peregrine. Whinchat later at Woodoaks Farm was my 5th year tick of the day
Anyone connected with @northwoodfc (players, management, fans) like to join a Northwood Fantasy Premier League this season? Joining code is jh8jpm
First ever FA Vase tie for me saw @NorthwoodFC cruise to a 5-2 win against a spirited @RothwellCFC with a hattrick for centre-back Mustafa Tiryaki. An entertaining game with some great goals. Hope the young Rothwell keeper is OK #UpTheWoods🪵
Full time and the Woods move into the next round where they play at home to @Maidenhead_Town in two weeks time.
We are being spoilt tonight on BBC2 - a whole evening of Paul Heaton’s music. His back catalogue is incredible and still producing great songs today. Great to see Jacqueline Abbott again too
Tonight from 8:35pm on @bbctwo and @bbciplayer! A whole evening of programming dedicated to Paul's career featuring a collection of performances & best BBC moments, last year’s Bramall Lane concert, 'The Housemartins in London 0 Hull 4' documentary first broadcast in 1987 & more!
The @northwoodfc centenary celebrations continued yesterday with a Northwood Legends team taking on the England Over 50s team. England won 6-1 in a game that was closer than the scoreline suggested. Enjoyed my role as stand-in photographer,
Excellent start to the season. A comfortable win, our first home win since December 13 last year, a clean sheet and the first time we’ve won our first game of the season since 2023. Lots of positives to take #UpThWoods🪵
Full time: The Woods 2 v 0 Holyport. 2 second half goals secure 3 points for The Woods. #UpTheWoods
Who have guessed watching Long-Tailed Shrikes two months ago in Kazakhstan, I’d be watching another just over an hour away from home! Bird showed really well this morning near Eastleach Turville at what was a well organised twitch
