Are you a designer in tech, out of work and struggling to get interviews?
Your next steps:
1) Cut your CV to FAANG style one pager
2) Cut your portfolio to 3 projects max
2a) Forget about lengthy case studies — short intro paragraph only
2b) Lots of wow pics / videos of the finished product
2c) Don't talk about process and forget the pics of stickie notes on walls
If those 3 projects are not enough to get a call back...
3) Spend time making cool shit
4) Make sure AI is very obviously prominent in your workflow
Then, and only then...
5) Look in better places for jobs that actually exist (not LinkedIn). (Places that might require a subscription to be part of their community.)
For reference, watch these videos, then continue to watch their channels:

This is an interesting move
Now building is a team sport.
Introducing Slack Code: a new way for your team and AI agents, like @AnthropicAI's Claude Code, Claude Tag, Devin from @cognition, @github Copilot, @ChatGPT, and @vercel agents, to write, review, and ship code together.
Just mention an agent to spin up a channel, pull in your team, and start building. All in the open. All in Slack.

This is deeply problematic. Anthropic itself admits that its watermark may appear even when Claude merely proofreads, translates or reformats material it did not author.
That collapses AI assistance into AI authorship. A writer can originate the ideas, construct the argument and produce the draft, yet still have the finished work treated as AI-generated because Claude helped refine it.
That does not protect human originality. It places original work under suspicion and creates a provenance signal that will often be mistaken for an authorship verdict.
Anthropic says new Claude models will embed invisible watermarks in all generated text, everywhere Claude is offered.
The watermark is part of the text, it isn't metadata: "it will travel with the text when it's copied and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing."
This starts with models launched on or after August 2, 2026, under an EU AI Act code Anthropic signed. Anthropic is still working on adding it to current models. The rollout is worldwide.
Since getting laid off last November, things have been pretty tough financially and emotionally, but we got through it.
I'm now pleased to say I start a new job tomorrow, designing for an AI powered marketing platform.
One thing I have noticed is how, despite everyone's diversity and inclusion policies, ageism is very real! Also, the ghosting in the tech job market is horrible. It should be mandatory for CEOs to go through the recruitment process every few months and to see what a fucking shit show it really is.
If you're in the same boat just keep on keeping on. You'll find something eventually. If you’re struggling, I’m happy to chat, look over your CV and portfolio and help you break through it. Give us a shout!
A lot of what I was doing with Claude Code and Figma MCP can now be done directly in Figma Agents. Even with pretty vague prompts, I'm getting solid output with variable mapping and reuse of existing components. Nice 👌
Loving the current trend of super creative product designer portfolios again. However, are we just shrugging off accessibility now? Some of the colour contrast between text and surface is shocking. 🤷♂️
So, last night we (me and Claude Code) made an 80s style arcade game! Still a work in progress, but playable on computers with a keyboard (not on mobiles, yet). Keen to get some feed on the overall game play and mechanics.

So, today I started on a game in Claude. I know an 80s inspired, horizontal space shoot 'um up is a bit cliche, but it's a start! Right?
If you let me upload my CV / resume, why do you then force me to fill in your tedious work history form with dozens of fields that make cut-n-paste practically impossible. #fuckthisshit
