Everyone, this is a darkroom print of my son, Tennbo (with an Arashiyama monkey) to catch your eye and let you know I will be attempting a semi-monthly newsletter discussing in more longform prose photography, photo books, literature, cinema and life. Link is in my bio.

Any Americans living in Japan renew their passports by mail recently? About how long was the turnaround?

Mark Kelly smuggled a gorilla suit onto the Space Station and without telling anyone he donned it one day. Pretty sure he can handle being VP. xitter.cf/ThatEricAlper/status/1…

I think liberals and Democrats need to admit that they let the Times etc make them doubt themselves. Biden is a good president. You all know this. But you're doubting yourselves. Let's just say what needs saying.

This manufactured controversy of Biden's cognitive decline deduced from one bad debate reminds me so much of 2002 when all of MSM started drumming for the invasion of Iraq, led by @nytimes. They dutifully helped Bush/Cheney legit an unlawful war. Now they're abetting Trump & GOP.

The Washington Post is a challenge to Biden’s reelection. The media at large said after the 2016 election they realized their reporting was skewed to more coverage for Trump and lacked balance. They claimed they learned their lesson and would do better in the future. But 2024 is an even more imbalanced repeat of 2016. Shouldn’t there be a Project 2025 series by all media organizations explaining the plan? Shouldn’t there be a “presidential immunity decision” series with explanations of the legal impact written by respected constitutional law experts? The media is promoting Trump by ignoring all the horrific consequences of his potential reelection and hammering away at Biden with gossipy stories about things allegedly said by insiders. There is virtually zero reporting of the administration’s major achievements. I just renewed my WAPO subscription 6 weeks ago but am ready to cancel.

A must-read. Jesus, American democracy is on the line and you're all freaking out about a 90-minute debate, falling for the trap, taking the bait.

Biden won the debate on substance by a landslide to all thinking people; the problem is the election will be determined in swing states by a few hundred thousand absolute morons. That's a problem.

MEDIA: One guy stood on stage and repeated lie after lie into a narcissistic fable so extreme, you were forced to wonder if this man would destroy every living thing on the entire planet if he thought it would benefit himself. But then the other guy seemed old so the liar won.

It is insane to me that CNN opened this debate with bog-standard economy questions, and not by asking Trump: "You are now a convicted felon, on 34 felony charges and face another 54 charges. Should you not stand down from this race?"
