I’m seeing a lot of anger and disappointment in badger circles today that the badger cull is ending, but not ending fast enough. Apologies for the long thread 🧵, but tet me explain why I think the news is the best it could be 1/25

DRSG are pleased to have helped Stonewater Housing manage potential breeding peregrines at one of their sites. We have installed a bespoke nest box on Harbour Sails high-rise in Poole, Dorset (above ASDA). If peregrines use this box it will be safe and secure.

Great to see #MotusWTS mentioned on #winterwatch @BBCSpringwatch by @ChrisGPackham and @michaelastracha - We have been working hard to grow our receiver network to get more results like the incredible Goldcrest! Please message/email if you want to know more.

Exciting news from our #Motus tower of a Northern Wheatear - tagged in Heliogoland on August 28th 2023. It travelled south, pinging Wenduine, Belgium on the 30th, before passing Dungeness at c3.40am on the same day. It was around the Obs for 15/20 minutes. @birdobs_council

Yet another cool #motus registration from our Yellow-browed Warblers! Trapped and tagged at #Ottenby on Sep 14 and then recorded on four different receivers around the German bight September 26-28, before disappearing into the Dutch inland. #birdmigration #animaltracking
