.@seattletimes management has offered the union some protections around the use of AI — but only to reporters.
Management still insists it needs the right to replace other @SeaTimesUnion workers with AI.
We all deserve AI protections — not just reporters.

Management's position is inexcusable.

We did it!!! Yesterday the unit voted unanimously to ratify a new contract that will immediately secure hardworking journalists at @CascadePBSNews an average raise of 6.76% and an average 18.3% wage increase over the course of the four-year contract.

We did it! A majority of @adndotcom newsroom staff voted to unionize. The @nlrbgov counted our ballots today via Zoom after receiving a few mail-in ballots.
This makes the ADN the only unionized newsroom in Alaska. Thank you for your support! #ADNunited

We asked Carpenter for the legal bare minimum — to bargain with us before imposing layoffs — and it took a 2-day strike to get there.
But we’re back to work today doing what we love, and we’ll begin negotiations with the company on Friday.
