You voted to essentially destroy rural healthcare in Iowa so that the richest and most powerful people in the country could extract even more from us.
Rural Iowans shouldn't have to drive an hour for care. That's why I fought to deliver $209 million in year-one Rural Health Transformation funding, keeping hospitals open and bringing cancer screening closer to the patients who need it.

Today we unveiled more social housing in Iowa City! 15 units of supportive housing for homeless veterans, with financial/service assistance from the VA. These are at least 15 neighbors who won’t have to sleep outside. A great step in our efforts to end homelessness in Iowa City.

My faith teaches me to love my neighbor, feed the hungry, and clothe the naked – not turn our backs on our most vulnerable by cutting access to health care and food from tens of thousands of Iowans and putting our rural hospitals at risk.
