Another day at Vaillant EuroCentral learning all about heat pumps.
Here’s a wee rebuild of the AroTherm 👊🏼
@vaillantuk
Finally dropped the pressure independent TRV bodies for less restrictive regular type and converted BOE to TBOE, managed to drop heat curve from 0.75 to 0.65.
Old valves been on there 2+ years and spotless inside, happy at that. #roasting

My own system water test results nearly 3 & 1/2 years apart. Note: It has never been topped up or drained in that time.
Let it run a few weeks after flush in 2020 before taking samples.

Question:
Propylene Glycol in a domestic heat pump system. What water category does it fall under U.K water regs?
Interested to see if everyone says the same or if there is quite a variation in the answers.

Be warned - the energy prices quoted on many news shows are now FALSELY cheaper.
Ofgem has just redefined its annual 'typical use' definition from now onwards as lower usage (likely as people are cutting back) - and as that's what is often quoted, it sounds like prices have dropped more than they have as it's not like-for-like.
Normally I try and quote by an average % drop rather than typical use. Yet to help clear up any confusion, here's the new figures under both old and new 'typical use' definitions.

ALT Average annual energy bill for a typical dual-fuel customer paying by direct debit Based on new typical usage figures (1) Based on old typical usage figures (2) Energy Price Guarantee 1 April to 30 June 2023 £2,382 £2,500 Ofgem's current Price Cap 1 July to 30 September 2023 £1,976 £2,074 Predicted Price Cap (3) 1 October to 31 December 2023 £1,871 £1,978 Predicted Price Cap (3) 1 January to 31 March 2024 £1,901 £2,004 (1) Gas 11,500kWh, Electricity 2,700kWh (2) Gas 12,000kWh, Electricity 2,900kWh (3) Based on Cornwall Insight predictions

Been looking at combining cooling function of HP with MVHR. However the air change rates of MVHR and A/C don't marry up well. Thinking about MVHR as is, with individual Cooling Hexs with own air in & out in the living spaces. Anyone tried?
