#UkraineRussiaWar

He spent nearly 20 years in the Yakuza. Ten years in prison. Then he came to Ukraine — and tattooed the Ukrainian trident on his neck. Imagine this: a Japanese man who doesn’t speak Ukrainian arrives in a country at war and eventually goes to the front. A sniper with the callsign “Harusan.” Behind him are almost two decades in the Japanese underworld and ten years behind bars. On his neck is a Ukrainian trident. “I’m 50. I joined the Yakuza when I was 16. My father was also a member. I was an ordinary bodyguard for a boss — not at the top, but not an errand boy either. I left when I was 35. And yes, I still have both little fingers. The tradition of cutting off a finger joint is already outdated.” Then came ten years in prison. “I didn’t do anything terrible. But I was imprisoned with terrible people. I looked at them and understood what kind of person I never wanted to become.” When Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he decided to come. Harusan arrived on April 1, 2022. He spoke no Ukrainian and had no military experience. “I didn’t know the language. But I looked at those horrors and realized that the language barrier was a small thing.” In Ukraine, he became a sniper. He served in the Zhytomyr region, fought near Lysychansk and on the Zaporizhzhia front. He later joined the Georgian National Legion. Communication with his brothers-in-arms was often reduced to gestures and a translator on his phone. Along the way, he learned a few essential words and phrases. In the summer of 2023, Harusan tattooed the Ukrainian trident on his neck. “It symbolizes my determination. If necessary, to give my life for Ukraine.” When asked why a Japanese man would risk his life in a war thousands of kilometers from home, his answer is simple: “Russia attacked not only Ukraine. It has harmed Moldova and Georgia. If Ukraine loses, there will be even more wars. This also concerns Japan’s future.” There is another reason. He calls it redemption. “Redemption for my sins is in my heart. But the most important thing is to reduce the number of victims — especially among children.” He doesn’t complain about being far from Japan or about loneliness. He simply wants to remain in Ukraine until victory. And his message to Ukrainians is just as simple: “Ukrainians, never lose heart. Never. Until victory.” A man who spent much of his life in darkness made his choice when it mattered most — and chose to stand with Ukraine.

Living with suicidal ideation as a result of clinical depression and other similar mental illnesses is a fate much worse than death itself. That’s why many who struggle believe that death is the cure for the tremendous pain that’s terrorizing their mind. They deserve better.

An audiologist put in a pair of AirPods Pro for the first time. She took them out after 30 seconds and said: "These are hearing aids. Apple just doesn't call them that." She's fitted hearing aids for 12 years. $3,000–$7,000 per pair. She told me: "Your AirPods Pro have a clinical-grade hearing test built in. The same test I charge $200 for. It maps frequencies your ears miss and adjusts every sound that enters your ears in real time. Music. Podcasts. Phone calls. Everything. Personalized to YOUR hearing. Not default. Not generic. Yours." "Your AirPods amplify human voices and lower background noise when you start talking. My $5,000 hearing aids do the same thing. Yours cost $249." "Your AirPods track your head in 3D and place sound around you like a movie theater. My hearing aids can't do that. Yours can." "Your AirPods measure environmental sound levels and warn you when noise around you is damaging your hearing. Most $5,000 hearing aids don't have this feature. Your $249 earbuds do." "Your AirPods play clinical background sounds — white noise, rain, ocean — for tinnitus relief and focus. My patients pay $15/month for apps that do the same thing. Your AirPods do it free." "Your AirPods have a Live Listen mode that turns your iPhone into a remote microphone. Place your phone on a table across a restaurant. Every word streams into your ears. I recommend $300 accessories for this. Your AirPods do it built in." "Apple built a $5,000 hearing aid and priced it at $249. Then they marketed it as earbuds for music. 300 million people bought them. Almost nobody knows what they actually are." Here are 10 AirPods Pro features most owners have never turned on: 🧵

TIME Magazine has released the full, unedited transcript of its interview with Trump alongside its cover story I put in the comments. I had to take several breaks to get through it, it's bad, really bad, because it's our President. If you've ever visited a loved one in a Memory Care facility you'd know the residents can give hours long dissertations without saying anything of substance, long strings of filterless free association that could lead anywhere. While Trump has always been a narcissist and a con man, he was also an effective communicator, you can't pull a successful con without that skill. What we see in this interview seems to be truly disturbing and we need to face it together as a nation and do something about it. Please take the time to read. time.com/article/2026/10/01/…
