An honor to watch Adam Cassady be sworn in @StateDept as Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy! Look forward to working with him to advance U.S. spectrum and technology goals as part of (as @UnderSecPD aptly put it) “a new chapter in America’s digital diplomacy.”

The data are in: Trump Admin is saving taxpayers billions while achieving universal connectivity. The Benefit of the Bargain reforms brought funding in line with today’s realities, stretched dollars further, and avoided harmful market distortions.
Benefit of the Bargain BEAD reforms, led by @ArielleRothNTIA, removed unnecessary regulation and excessive costs. Critics predicted disaster, but the data say otherwise. Most locations will see fiber and the agency is adjusting to new market realities. My latest👇

NEW: The Pentagon has granted the Department of Homeland Security permission to test a heat ray weapon at the southern border. The military-grade heat ray can shoot an invisible beam of electromagnetic waves at potential intruders. The weapon can reach people more than half a mile away, according to the United States military. According to the Pentagon, the heat ray weapon is non-lethal but causes a burning sensation on the skin that can last between 10 and 15 minutes. The weapon sends an uncomfortable tingling effect on a potential intruder, generating "an instinctive and irresistible urge to run from the effect." Officials say the feeling is similar to the blast of heat you receive when you open up a hot oven.

T-Mobile comes out against satellite D2D in the 2496-2690 MHz band. Argues downlink interference from satellites could cause a cell site to lose up to 96% of its uplink coverage area and reduce uplink speeds for affected customers by 88% to 99%. fcc.gov/ecfs/document/261100…

Replying to @aaronburnett
We definitely need to explain this in detail. Veterans of the cellular industry look at the chess board of existing pieces and don’t see a solution. They don’t understand that SpaceX is developing entirely new pieces that fundamentally alter the strategic landscape.

This illustrates the point I’ve been making about the limits of centralized approaches to SI safety in cyber. OpenCode (and earlier Hugging Face) hit the same wall mid-attack: frontier models refused to analyze the very exploits needed for defense because the payloads tripped safety filters. The guardrails backfired. Meanwhile, the attackers found a way around restrictions to access advanced capabilities. This is not surprising. Chinese models are only about 6–9 months behind the American frontier in cyber. Obviously the U.S. has no jurisdiction over them. The only durable response is decentralized: make powerful models available so defenders can build and run their own cyber defenses. The only solution to SI-powered cyberattacks is SI-powered cyber defense.
OpenCode is currently under a sustained cyberattack, and mid-incident they ran into the same problem Hugging Face did: the frontier models they were using for defense began refusing to help fight attacking agents because analyzing the attacks started triggering safety guardrails.

Sean McDonough on the ABC call of Alabama at Tennessee with the crowd so loud on 3rd down of last drive... (To Greg McElroy) "I did not hear a word you said. I'm sure it was insightful, as always." "You and I have been to a lot of stadiums, none louder than this." McElroy" "As good as it gets."

How AI Helped Me Fix 10 Years of Chronic Pain (And How It Can Help You Too) x.ai/bot/rrgu_NZPufQ4D00pF9o… For more than 10 years I had chronic knee pain from an old sports injury. Multiple surgeries. PT. Injections. Meds. Knees over toes guy. Nothing worked. Stairs, walking, squatting all hurt every day. In 2020 @jposhaughnessy told me to research Dr. John Sarno. His idea that a lot of chronic pain starts in the mind actually made sense to me, but there was no real playbook to do it yourself, and the doctors who used his methods weren't local and were expensive. So even though I had the knowledge, I wasn’t able to act on it. At the end of 2025 as I started noticing AI getting dramatically better and more useful every day so I asked a chatbot if it could help me with my pain and it pointed me to Nicole Sachs' new book Mind Your Body which was published a few months prior. I read the book and then for the entire month of December I committed to her protocol for 30 days: 20 minutes of journaling and 10 minutes of meditation a day. Even though she had the protocol in her book, I felt like it was still lacking. So I built out my own protocol that gave daily writing prompts and the why behind it based on her and Dr Sarno’s teachings. Fast forward nearly a year later and I am essentially pain free. It’s doesn’t consume my life anymore. I was going to share this information previously to try to help others but I’m kinda glad I didn’t because now with @bot I was able to build an entire protocol on this to act as the guide that was never there. And the best part is it’s completely free. The protocol in the link walks you through the same 30 days: daily reminders, guided journaling prompts, quick pain check-ins, 10-minute meditations, and answers to "why does this work?" I’d love for you to give it a try or send it to a friend or family member who suffers from any type of chronic pain or mental disorder to see if it can help. The only downside is you spend 30 minutes of your day doing something that can only improve your health. Also please provide any feedback of additional features or bugs and I will push an update. NOTE: THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. CONSULT YOUR OWN DOCTOR. I AM JUST SHARING WHAT WORKED FOR ME (FOR FREE).

Thank you to @DailyCaller for highlighting parents’ growing concerns about screen-based instruction in K-12 schools. Yesterday, @NTIAgov filed comments with the @FCC documenting testimony on EdTech's impact on learning & development & the role of federal E-Rate subsidies.
Exposure to pornography, stunted development and anxiety are just a few of the issues that come with the over-reliance on technology in classrooms, Assistant Commerce Secretary @ArielleRothNTIA told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Roth revealed that more than 280 teachers, students and child development experts believe that screens in classrooms harm children’s development and their mental health, according to comments she submitted to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Tuesday. This comes as the agency considers reforms to a $3 billion program that subsidizes internet access for schools and libraries. Roth believes involving parents more in their education may help solve the problem. Read more @DailyCaller dailycaller.com/2026/10/14/a…

That's not a UFO! A Falcon 9 rocket just launched the CRS-35 mission from SLC-40 in Florida at 6:33 AM EDT. The rocket and its expanding exhaust plumes are being illuminated by the sun, which may produce lingering noctilucent clouds for some viewers. Here's an approximate viewing map and example photos from prior launches:
