I’m done blessing America. I’m moving on to Canada. It’s less needy and has better poutine.
Excellent YEG Halloween #CriticalMass ride!

More masculinity = more health? Nah.
Reality: traditional masculine norms associated with:
- Mental health challenges
- Unhealthy behaviours linked to heart disease, cancer, etc
- Loneliness & isolation
- Poorer sex & relationships
- Etc

As a cyclist and car owner, I can never get over the idiocy of arguing that bike infrastructure somehow makes congestion worse.
It’s cars. Cars make congestion worse. More bikes = less congestion.
Studies from around the world show bike lanes ease congestion, reduce emissions and are a boon to businesses. cbc.ca/news/science/bike-lan…
Dude lives in (checks notes) Bragg Creek. Anytime he drives in Calgary, he's driving for free on municipal roads financed by Calgary taxpayers (including the cyclists he hates).
Cyclists literally subsidize this bozo, not the other way around.
Pay your share, deadbeat.
Calgary should require bicyclists to purchase an annual pass in order to utilize bike lanes, to help offset the cost of construction and maintenance.
Pay your share, deadbeats.

At the World Relays in the spring, a reporter asked USA’s Noah Lyles if he saw Canada as a threat in the 4x100m in Paris.
“Who? Who?”
He laughed it off.
With Lyles sidelined, the USA were disqualified today and Canada won gold.
When he’s raw, real, and unscripted Trudeau can be pretty damn compelling. (I don’t always find him so.)
Imagine remaining this cogent, patient, and persuasive in the face of hateful, intrusive asshattery.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sounds amazing in this, you can see he is angry when his family vacation time with his kids is called a “story” and a “narrative” by a far right YouTuber who stocked him and followed him to BC from Alberta

Just finished a 7-9am volunteer count for @Canada_Bikes at this multi-use intersection just northwest of the downtown Edmonton Save-On. As instructed, I tracked everyone who crossed the axis drawn on the photo (omitting people who turned without crossing my line). 1/4
The exercise felt very wholesome as I witnessed diverse Edmontonians simply going about their mornings—a mom and a very young (and new) cyclist headed to school, a man in his 60s on a Lime scooter, another cycling to work in his business suit). 3/4
The so-called“personal vehicles” in my count were all electric scooters—oddly placed in the same category as cars by the survey designers. Yay, micro-mobility! 2/4
Oilers vs Stars: April 29, 1997
Here's Todd Marchant's iconic game 7 overtime goal to dispatch the heavily favoured Stars—mere seconds after a miraculous save by Curtis Joseph. As a bonus, we have Bob Cole calling the play.

Sadness and woe! My steed was stolen from my garage. The photo does not include the rear rack with attached fold-out metal side baskets. Please keep an eye open. #YEGbike
