Vintage Ditka. R.I.P.
Mike Ditka was scheduled to sing the seventh inning stretch on July 5th, 1998. This was the year that Harry Caray died and the “guest conductor” was new at Wrigley Field. Ditka got stuck in traffic and was running late. By the time the top of the seventh ended, Ditka was still not there and Steve Stone and Chip Caray stalled for time. Finally Ditka busts into the press box, grabs the mic, and screams Take Me Out To The Ball Game in twenty two seconds! Organist Gary Pressy could barely keep up! The crowd roared with approval! Kings of overtime 👑
With tonight's win, the San Jose Sharks have an NHL-leading 13 OT wins since the start of last season.
All 3 wins this season have been in OT.
Ah, the good old days...
Today In 1972: Oakland #Athletics shortstop Bert Campaneris hurls his bat at Detroit #Tigers pitcher Lerrin LaGrow after getting hit by a pitch during Game 2 of the #ALCS!!! #MLB #History #Postseason
So Kellen Moore leaves Olave (and Shough) in the game with 2 minutes to go down by 28. And Olave gets hit and limps off the field. Hopefully not a big deal, but regardless... blatant and obvious coaching malpractice.

Jared Goff is the only QB in NFL history to have 1200+ passing yards and no turnovers through 4 games of a season and yet not have a winning record.
Dude, it was TOTALLY taunting. Intent was clear.
Thank god the officials weren't on the field for this. They would've called a Taunting penalty for sure. #Seahawks
Love this.
So over the summer and before I left for California last week, I had been piecing together a letter to the @SanJoseSharks ahead of their regular season opener last Thursday against the Florida Panthers.
I then found out on Saturday night this very same letter was in their locker room at the Sharks Ice practice facility. I hope my words as a fan helps propel this team to the next step this season: The Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Jackson Chourio is the second MLB player to deliver a postseason walkoff hit with his team trailing & with a pitcher who led his league in saves during the regular season on the mound (since saves became official in 1969).
The other was Kirk Gibson off Dennis Eckersley in 1988.
A tale of 2 seasons for @SanJoseSharks
