I like the sound of this!
If this is the case, you definitely don’t need the @DPWorldTour. 17 is plenty & allows flexibility.
The lifestyle brand has big potential in the space.
🚨🚨🚨 Per Financial Times, LIV 2.0 will have 17 tournaments in total for 2027. Quick pivot from DPWT interference.
"As for the new LIV, BC has said both itself and partners will commit up to $300mn. The league is supposed to have 17 tournaments in total with 10 “signature” stops around the world. Goldthorpe has insisted that there are plenty of co-investors expressing interest in a golf league and a potential adjacent lifestyle brand."

Hours after announcing an initial committed investment in LIV Golf, BC Partners Credit head Ted Goldthorpe explained his confidence in the global league’s new business model while speaking at Sportico’s Invest London conference on Tuesday.
“The more we dug into this, the disconnect between myth and fact is massive,” Goldthorpe said. “I think you can easily see a path in very short order to over $100 million valuations per team.”

A letter to LIV Golf fans from Scott O'Neil
The next phase of LIV Golf will be built around a sustainable business model and deeper alignment between players and the League, with team golf at its core. Players will have the opportunity to share directly in the value they help create, while teams will be positioned to grow into enduring global sports businesses. And fans will remain at the center of everything we do.
To everyone who wore a team hat, brought their family to an event, watched across the 5 continents, inspired through social media, or just believed professional golf could be for everyone: thank you. You helped build the foundation of LIV Golf. Now we build what comes next, with the same ambition we had at the start: bring the next generation of global fans to golf.

🇺🇸 History lesson:
- The South thought they had won the American Civil War ~August 1864.
- Northern casualties were mounting & the war was increasingly unpopular.
- President Lincoln was secretly preparing for probable defeat & possible election loss.
- One key was that victory for the South wasn’t as complex as the North. The South didn’t NEED to conquer the North to win. They just needed to defend their homes, hold their ground for long enough & wait. They proved they could do this for 4 years. Southern confidence was high in spite of being greatly out resourced. But the war was not over.
- The South had 3 Achilles heels.
#1 Pride/hubris. We still see evidence of this today.
#2 Their entire economy/wealth was tied to 1 thing that the North wanted to abolish & incentivized defections to weaken it.
#3 The South only had ONE great leader. The North had many great leaders that galvanized together.
- This diverse leadership developed a new plan that was implemented by the North late in 1864. This changed the course of the war many thought was lost.
- Northern morale was greatly improved by this strategy shift, the Southern economy was weakened & the trajectory of the war was flipped. Within 6 months the South was forced to negotiate surrender at Appomattox, April 9, 1865.
Lesson: Propaganda can only go so far. In war, you can always use your enemy’s pride against them. When any party thinks the war is won, sometimes that’s when they’re most vulnerable. You can always change the course of any war with the right strategy. But strategy isn’t everything. If you lose the overall morale of the leaders, troops or populace, you cannot win. Yes, you’ll always have a few that quit when things get difficult - inevitable. But the right leaders + the right strategy + knowing your enemy’s weaknesses + galvanizing together is how wars are won. Also, if you don’t know history, you’re doomed to repeat it.

💬 Immediate reaction from LIV Golf New York leader, @joaconiemann
JERRY: I know it was a tough start, but are you proud of yourself for the way you fought back today?
NIEMANN: Yeah, I enjoyed it out there for sure. Obviously not the best tee shot coming out to start the round, but just kind of -- yeah, it was kind of good to just be back into that moment. It was a little bit frustrating. I think I was able to handle it pretty good. Then being able to play the way that I played after missing a few putts that after that I could have made, yeah, pretty good round.
JERRY: Was it more of a challenge to stay committed to your shots that you've stated is your goal, fully committed to them, in these blustery wind conditions?
NIEMANN: It was definitely more tricky. Coming out of a little rain delay, a 40-minute delay, made a good birdie there, but pretty tricky tee shot after that one. A little cold. But yeah, I felt like I was able to do it right. I think I can do it better, so hopefully tomorrow we'll have a good day.
JERRY: I know you've been through this enough times you don't really experience sleepless nights like a lot of guys would first time in this position, but what do you tell yourself in the ensuing hours before you play tomorrow?
NIEMANN: I mean, just be grateful. I feel like if I just remember the good things that I have around me and the people around me, it's just easy to go back to sleep. I have a good life.
