P6RE are becoming a thinking classroom! We have been learning how to use bar models to solve problems in maths. We have started to show and share our thinking on whiteboards around the classroom. We have been using the counting in strategy to solve problems. @ScottMorrowSA

Context is key for learners to develop conceptual understanding and allow them to make mathematical decisions. Everyone has the potential to truly understand maths…when we rote learn processes and facts so many learners switch off and think maths just isn’t for them…
