The Orioles have gone from back-to-back playoff appearances to somehow being in the same conversation with the *gasp* Rockies and Pirates
It wasn’t supposed to be this way

The Dodgers are bad for baseball. "Any given Sunday" in the NFL.
I wrote about how both are less true than you might think, and why numbers ̶n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶a̶l̶w̶a̶y̶s̶ sometimes lie

Surprises: teams, results, and one big unsurprising finish in State College defined the football weekend

Can only hope that serves as a great learning experience for all. Players, coaches, everyone. Left too many points on the field due to mistakes today
No one has ever explained how or why a five yard penalty could end up as an automatic first down. Brutal
Also, NFL refs acting like they get paid by the flag in week one is a tradition unlike any other
Man, what an awesome finish at Camden Yards. What an awesome night celebrating Cal. Tremendous job with the broadcast tonight @masnOrioles

Tonight, we throw it back to 1995.

Noles matching last season’s win total after just two weeks is more cathartic than I thought it would be
It was fun having college football truly back yesterday. Reactions from the day, which started with an emotional sendoff and featured several shocking performances scottmanze.wordpress.com/202…
Noles fans with some serious PTSD seeing a toss play on what should have been a handoff near the goal line
No sport needs games to start more desperately than college football right now. If the NBA makes its hay on offseason storylines, CFB somehow succeeds despite the proliferation of cringeworthy ones
The Big Ten is, indeed, in the *very* early stages of discussing the idea of a 28-team College Football Playoff model, source confirms to @NBCSports (as ESPN reported).
Would eliminate conference championship games & have most spots designated per league.
Was tweeting updates from this game with @KeithManze for 1010, and I couldn’t even hit send on one tweet before the next score happened. Was easily one of the craziest games I’ve ever witnessed
What’s the greatest high school football game ever?
We’ll start.

John Wolford has 773 total yards…in a loss…in regulation.
The last 25 years have defined my sports fandom, as I came of age during the first quarter of the century.
Beginning a look-back project, I reflect on 25 sporting events that defined my fandom. First up: Florida State football #Noles

Major sea-change in CBB on display, but a big loss here locally. Coach Driscoll is as authentic as they come, and he launched UNF into a brand recognized on the national stage. As long as I’ve been a part of the CBB scene here in Jax, he was helping shape in. Best wishes to him
BREAKING NEWS: @OspreyMBB Coach Matthew Driscoll is resigning to take an Associate Head Coach job at Kansas State. The winningest coach at UNF built the program and earned a 2015 NCAA Tournament bid, but he's meant so much to the University of North Florida since arrival in 2009. Long time assistant Bobby Kennen will be the interim head coach at UNF. @ActionSportsJax
When you think Dolphin baseball you think of Terry Alexander and this guy. Program builders and program leaders
