#SCIPSeries: Week 4: STEM Classroom Innovators Program (SCIP) – The Biology workshop on From Cells to Organisms concluded successfully few days back! Offered by The Science Outreach Initiative, IISER Pune in collaboration with @CODE_iitm_ , the workshop engaged 204 teachers from across India in hands-on, inquiry-based biology learning. The session was conducted by Dr. Asim Auti, who guided participants through engaging, thought provoking questions and activities to develop a sense of how biology can be taught with understanding of underlying core themes. Teachers participated in interactive activities that integrated critical thinking, questioning, use of models and agent-based modelling, making biology classrooms more meaningful and engaging. Project VIGYASA – Vigyan Ki Jigyasa successfully brought together 50+ science and math teachers from the Mohol block, Solapur, for an engaging capacity-building workshop focused on transforming science classrooms through activity-based learning Practices. @IRO_IISERP @IISERPune
The two-days teacher training workshop was organised by the Mohol Teachers Association in collaboration with the Science Activity Centre, IISER Pune, and URMEE, the workshop is being conducted under Project VIGYASA – Vigyan Ki Jigyasa, a CSR initiative funded by Alivus Life Sciences. The workshop began with an inspiring address by Dr. V. G. Gambhir, Founding Director of Solapur Science Center, retired scientist from TIFR, and former faculty member at HBCSE. He emphasized that teachers are role models who cultivate scientific temperament by encouraging students to observe, question, investigate, and connect science with everyday life.
