FYI Greg Autry @GregWAutry at @UCF @UCFBusiness @ucfspacebiz really wants to be the next @NASA Administrator. With #Project2025 & the #ScheduleF loyalty test how many people at #NASA will be defined in the same way? Is this any way to explore space? No. xitter.cf/GregWAutry/status/1849…

Many of us in the space industry, from scientists and engineers, astronauts and Star Trek actors, and more will be speaking tomorrow night for @space4harris.
Join me along with @BillNye, @RobertPicardo, @TheGalacticGal, @Laur_Ly, and others as we share our vision for where space exploration and realms of study (like astrobiology) can go with @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz as our next U.S. President and VP.

Twice the telescopes = twice as iconic 🤩
Take in these views from Hubble and @NASAWebb, all featuring the star-forming region known as the Pillars of Creation.
Both telescopes see in different wavelengths of light, so working together, we get a broader view of these pillars!

Michelin’s inflatable sail can power boats without fuel
Michelin debuted a project called "WISAMO." It's an inflatable sail that can be used on ships to reduce carbon emissions.

Congrats to the team! @NASAWebb is now in its new stable home in space & one step closer to helping us #UnfoldTheUniverse. This orbit will allow a wide view of the cosmos at any given moment. I'm so excited to see what's uncovered as Webb begins to send images back this summer.
🏠 Home, home on Lagrange! We successfully completed our burn to start #NASAWebb on its orbit of the 2nd Lagrange point (L2), about a million miles (1.5 million km) from Earth. It will orbit the Sun, in line with Earth, as it orbits L2. blogs.nasa.gov/webb/2022/01/… #UnfoldTheUniverse
Animation: Webb Pan Past at L2 Point
This animation illustrates the location of Webb's destination, the second Lagrange point: It shows Earth in the mid-ground, and the Sun in the background.

Replying to @NASAWatch
Love that pic @NASAWatch! I am looking for the pic, but I met a 23yo man from northern England who braved several international Covid protocols and challenges and came to the @NASAWebb launch in Kourou. His name: James Webb! – at North Snyderville Basin, UT

And here we see the last view of #Webb as it separated from @ariane5 and started it's month-long journey to L2 🤩 #WebbFliesAriane #WebbSeesFarther

What a parting shot. Solar array deployment as #JWST heads to its new home beyond the moon.

For most space science missions, the majority of "risk" is retired after the launch. With the James Webb Space Telescope, only about 10 percent of the mission risk has now been retired.

The main engines of Webb’s @Ariane5 rocket have cut off, and the main stage has now separated. The upper stage has ignited and will burn for about 16 minutes. At cutoff, Webb will be moving 25,000 miles per hour (relative to Earth)! #UnfoldTheUniverse go.nasa.gov/3qs9Kp5

Today I will share two photos: one taken on the day I joined Univ. of Chicago in 1981. The person with brown blazer directly below my picture is Dr. J. Grunsfeld @SciAstro who spent 58d in space. He repaired HST. JWST starts a new era but HST will remain in our heart for ever.
