Taking prescription opioids away from Cancer/Sickle Cell/chronic pain sufferers because of heroin addicts made zero sense
It caused a 900% increase in deadly overdoses
Mainstream media refuses to acknowledge this

Some people do not know that sometimes,
When suffering from acute pain, chronic fatigue, migraine-like headache, mood swings, or other acute events of sickle cell disorder,
We do not know what to do,
To make acute events of sickle cell disorder stop,
So we keep trying many things,
To identify what will work.
At such times,
We are as clues as others,
So, please, be patient with us.

Bailey is a sickle cell patient at St. Jude, a Scout, and loves music and dance.

In April, I requested ethnicity data on blood donations and deferrals. Months later, I’m still waiting for the full set.
With just 50% of sickle cell patients getting the Ro matched blood they need, we need answers to understand why Black donors are being turned away.

I am 48 years old.
As a sickle cell warrior,
When I was young,
I was told that I would not live beyond 18 years,
But I surpassed 18 years.
Later, I was told that I would not live beyond 21 years,
But I surpassed 21 years.
Later, I was told that I would not live beyond 25 years,
But I surpassed 25 years.
Now, I am 48 years old,
I have lived beyond all those limitations,
Because it is God that has the final say over every life,
Because what God cannot do does not exist.
Thank You, Jesus Christ.
