They said it wasn't possible. We proved otherwise. Few Months ago, when we started building @blockfuselabs , the dream seemed too big for many to believe. No funding. No shortcuts. No guarantees. Just a vision — to raise a new generation of African builders who would leave a mark on the world. Today, this is the community we've built. Not just students — but brothers, sisters, dreamers, creators, leaders. ⚡ From classrooms to meetups. ⚡ From football fields to hackathons. ⚡ From strangers to family. We didn't wait for the perfect moment. We became the moment. Every milestone is a reminder: If you dare to believe in your vision — and if you fight for it — nothing is impossible. This is just the beginning. The next chapter will be even greater. Blockfuse Labs — built by dreamers, for dreamers.

African developers should be contributing to the technologies the rest of the world depends on. Not just building apps on top of them. Databases. Protocols. Developer tools. Blockchain clients. Open-source infrastructure. We have the talent. We need more engineers working on the hard problems.

Hey @grok, what does the ‘i’ stand for?

I love seeing Jos's tech ecosystem keep growing. Today, the GDG Jos community is bringing developers, founders, students, and tech enthusiasts together for DevFest Jos 2026. I'm especially excited because we're supporting the event through @blockfuselabs, and our Lead Engineer, Longs, will join the panel discussion. Jos needs more gatherings like this. Beyond the talks and networking, these are chances to meet, exchange ideas, and possibly start building something together. Big shout-out to the @gdgjos2 team for consistently bringing the community together. If you're in Jos, don't miss this one. 📍 Odillins Event Centre, Jos 📅 Today, 17th October 2026 Register here: bit.ly/Devfest-Jos2026 See you there!

Africa doesn't lack coding bootcamp graduation announcements. But how many graduates can actually build, debug, and maintain software without following tutorials? Training 1,000 people is impressive. Producing 100 capable engineers is a different achievement. We need to start measuring both.

We need to have an uncomfortable conversation about coding bootcamps in Africa. Every year, we see announcements about thousands of young people being trained in software development, blockchain, AI, and other tech skills. And that's a good thing. But there's one question I think we should be asking more often. What can these people actually build after the training? Because completing a six-month programming course doesn't automatically make someone a software engineer. Can they build something without following a YouTube tutorial? Can they debug their own code? Can they work with other developers on a real project? Can they understand a codebase they didn't write? These things matter. As someone building a technology training institution in Jos, I understand the excitement of seeing hundreds of young people complete a programme. But I've also realised that the number of people we train shouldn't be the only thing we celebrate. We should be equally interested in what they can do afterwards. And this applies to us at Blockfuse Labs too. I would rather see a developer confidently build and explain one working product than complete ten courses without understanding what they're doing. Africa doesn't just need more people who have learned programming. We need more people who can actually engineer solutions. I think it's time we started measuring that. What do you think?

Africa has enough people teaching others how to use technology. We need more people teaching others how to BUILD it. Not just websites and mobile apps. Operating systems. Protocols. Developer tools. Financial infrastructure. We can't keep celebrating adoption while ignoring ownership and engineering.

Some pressure is unavoidable. But some of it comes from things we kept postponing. The application was open for weeks. We could have sent the message yesterday. The bug was already there. The deadline did not appear suddenly. 😂 One habit we’re trying to build at Blockfuse Labs is doing important work before it becomes an emergency. Start early. Ask for help early. Review your work early. You may not remove every problem. But you will give yourself enough time to solve the ones you can. Never Settle.

Twelve months will pass whether you start or not. A year from now, you can still be thinking about learning a technical skill. Or you can spend that year writing code, building projects, working with other engineers, and getting better every week. The difference is not motivation. It is deciding to start and staying long enough for the work to change you. That is the journey we are opening with Cohort VI at Blockfuse Labs. Software and Agentic Engineering. Blockchain Engineering. In person or online. Start where you are. Keep going. Never Settle. Register here: blockfuselabs.com/apply

I’ve seen more than 5 coding challenges for secondary school students, and honestly, we’re leaving too much on the table. It’s high time we took programming seriously in our secondary schools. Start from JSS3 or SS1. With proper teaching and consistent practice over two academic sessions, these students can build something real. By SS3, they could already be damn good. Blockfuse Labs is open to partnerships with schools and organisations that want to make this happen. Let’s teach these students, help them build and prepare them for these opportunities. If you run a school or know someone who does, let’s talk.

Imagine Bob from Nigeria being able to send naira, while Alice in China receives the equivalent in yuan. Both countries maintain their own financial systems, and rules, but the transaction settles atomically across both networks. Imagine John from Kenya making a purchase from Doe's store in Singapore. John pays in Kenyan shillings, and Doe receives Singapore dollars. Different currencies, different economic domain. This is the new direction @pydenet is taking. We've evolved from building a post quantum blockchain network with fast finality and MEV protection into building the infrastructure that connects different economic systems. The underlying technology we've built remains. We're extending it. We're doing this through a three tier infrastructure. Tier 1 is designed for sovereign jurisdictions. It gives each country control over its monetary system, regulatory requirements, KYC, and institutional rules. Tier 2 is an open settlement network that coordinates obligations between these independent systems and enables cross border transactions to settle while respecting each jurisdiction's rules. Tier 3 is the public, permissionless network that allows anyone to participate and build open applications. One protocol, three economic environments. Imagine what this could mean for a trade between Africa and China, and eventually, for the global economy. That's where we’re now heading towards.

At Coded-Verse 1.0, @ScarFaceLabs co-founder of Blockfuse lab talked about: Blockchain, Building and the next internet. He went ahead to challenged the room to build blockchain infrastructure and the next internet instead of only using apps and trading tokens. It was an incredible session with him. We appreciate you sir.

Someone in Jos could build the next big thing in tech. Why not you? At AfriVerse’s Coded-Verse 1.0, I spoke about Blockchain, Building & the Next Internet. We know how to use the apps. We know how to trade the tokens. We should also know how to build the technology behind them. There are problems worth solving here, and people capable of solving them. That’s what we’re working towards at Blockfuse Labs. Thank you, @Afriverseworld , for giving this conversation a stage. 🤝
