An MCP ticket tool trusts a project ID from the agent, so prompt injection can redirect edits to another team. Seed hostile text, trace the call, change the ID, and test authorization manually. Enforce object checks server-side.
Pentest lesson: fintech API IDORs often hide behind valid JWTs. Scanners can confirm authentication, but rarely test whether User A can access User B’s account. Replay requests with two users and verify authorization for every object ID.
Before its first enterprise questionnaire, a seed-stage fintech should pass:
1. MFA on email, cloud, production
2. Asset and data-flow inventory
3. Alerts for auth and admin events
4. Tested backup restore
5. Incident plan with owners and contacts
