There is a saying: “If the judge is against you, who will hear your case?” The same logic applies to climate finance. When geopolitical alignment determines eligibility, it becomes unclear whom non‑aligned countries can appeal to, and who is positioned to critique the imbalance.

Those outside these alliances, however, frequently struggle to access support that was originally intended for states most vulnerable to climate change. In such a system, the principle of climate justice becomes difficult to uphold.
