Water quality has "diminished by 46% since 2010" in Tipperary. In some rivers "the ability of wild brown trout & salmon to reproduce was now being compromised".
Restoring Lough Derg's water "to good quality would make it much less expensive" to treat.

Throughout May & June, DP, with @BoyneRiverTrust and @DkIT_ie, will host a series of public consultations to discuss the value of the River Boyne, from a cultural, environmental and economic point of view.
Registration for the first consultation will open next week.
