It is a "right sized" for the Panthers, so a good stadium for them, despite the naysayers. But THIS costing $310 million is a black pill for anyone who imagines suburban grounds are going to be built into "boutique" stadiums, it's not going to happen in this lifetime.

True, Week 1 finals crowds in Sydney have always been poor.
Whilst everything must be over hyped these days, the basic dynamics remain unchanged - the fans of the teams that finished 5-8 know they're not winning the Premiership & fans of the top 4 know they can't be eliminated.
It's happening folks.
I don't mean to jump the gun, but's it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a Sharks vs Cowboys finals match at the SFS will actually draw a smaller crowd then the Dragons playing a final round dead rubber in a season where we finished last.

Sharks Jersey Flegg player Ratu Viliame Koroitamana has been charged by police as part of an investigation into a murder earlier this month.
The 19 year old was charged with one count of participating in a criminal group and has been stood down by Cronulla.

My last visit to Leichhardt Oval under its format - both current and for the last several decades.
It's impossible to think that any govt today or in the future would contribute $150m+ to knock down and build a Western stand for the Cronulla clubs privately owned and operated ground.
Shark Park used accommodate 22k, crowds which they'd regularly get at local derbies.
Now it accommodates max 15k. They're downsizing.
