5 years ago, Save Rez Dogs started advocating for Rez Dogs officially on Facebook. The main focus has always been about helping dogs in need and supporting on-reserve owners, but over the years SRD has also worked to correct discourse surrounding FN animal welfare.

We all have an obligation to take care of our dogs. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for their protection and sacrifices in the face of oppression and starvation. We owe it to our ancestors and young people, to better the legacy of how we treated our dogs. 🤎🐾🐶

2 culls were announced in one week across Canada. Both offer large sums of money to “destroy” & “eliminate” rez dogs.
We're sorry to hear people are getting hurt. On the other hand, this is 💯 preventable if the band is willing to fork out tons of $$$.

What’s the worst that could happen? They feel offended and tell you to fuck off?
Big deal.

She was going to be shot bc she was semi-feral and too timid for anyone to get her tight collar off.
She’s made great strides in the last 72 hours. 🥰
