How many early emerging #bees have now lost another source of food @KirkleesCouncil? 🤔🐝 Looking at the pictures, I’d say these trees are in the region of 25-30 years old and unfortunately, trees don’t get to decide where they’re planted. So this is either bad planning on your part, or ignorance. IMO these buildings now look awful, so you’ve clearly got bad taste and a lack of empathy for these beautiful and sentient beings, which also happen to be the lungs of your city… What a backward approach to tree management and the #ClimateEmergency. Are you aware @KirkleesCouncil that you simply can’t plant your way out of an ecological/environmental crisis?? 50x new saplings don’t replace a mature ecosystem such as a Silver Birch. Oh, & don’t plant semi-mature trees, they won’t have the correct installation/aftercare & will fail. Cutting down trees to create “new green spaces” is absolutely absurd! Have you taken a second to contemplate what you’re proposing?! 😖 – at Abertysswg, Wales
