Week 20 @ Ottawa Redblacks This is a big one for me. 75. It’s been 75 games since I’ve woken up on game day, strolled down to the kitchen, thrown my game-day meal of choice into the slow cooker, picked out the snacks I’ll be enjoying during the game, settled into my Lazy Boy with a cold one, and turned on the pregame show. Instead, it’s been early mornings packing the truck, cruising down the highway, and watching the sunrise on the horizon. Or catching an early-morning flight, driving six hours across the province, or hopping on a 6 a.m. train. Every week. Six months a year. Four years in a row. It’s exhausting, both physically and mentally. What started as an 18-game run with a “probably not gonna be able to pull this off” idea has morphed into what I can only describe as an adventure of a lifetime. The love of the game. The love of the team. That’s what started this. The cities I’ve seen, the experiences I’ve had, but most of all, the people I’ve met and, in a special way, come to love… That right there. That’s what keeps me going. 75 down. 25 to go. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the tremendous role that all the staff at the Argos and MLSE have played in this adventure. This team never seems to get the credit it deserves for all the hard work that goes into keeping things running day in and day out. From the management team to the coaching staff, equipment managers, trainers, and right down to the concession staff, I’ve witnessed the dedication firsthand. And all I can say is… Bravo. So, I’ll leave you with this. To every single one of you who has been a part of this journey along the way… From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. GO ARGOS!
