Watch how institutional power is not merely normalized, but openly celebrated in Bitcoin's social layer. Wealth, status, access, and proximity to power are elevated, while Bitcoin's founding principles, including sovereignty and the separation of money and state, are ridiculed. The values of the fiat system Bitcoin was created to challenge are being repackaged as Bitcoin's path to success. On November 5, Mars Spits Bars takes this worldview to BTC Inc's Bitcoin Amsterdam, on a Whale Pass-only panel titled: “BIG BITCOIN: IN CONTROL?” The CAPTURE articles documents the institutional relationships and mechanisms of influence. Bitcoin's social layer is the final line of defense against complete institutional capture. But if that very social layer is being conditioned to celebrate institutional power, ridicule principled opposition, and attack those exposing its concentration, who exactly is left to resist it?

Luke is correct. If sufficient Bitcoin ends up in the hands of Wall Street, it’s over for Bitcoin for many years. They will suppress its price discovery like they did with gold for decades.
Replying to @dotkrueger
IMO more Bitcoiners should spend more time on understanding that if "digital credit" is developed it will ensure BTC never goes to $1m That may even be the point of "digital credit." But Bitcoiners would be well-served to study "credit gold" that began in London in mid-80s

Andrew Jones is an American Christian who has spent the last 30 years of his life guarding and studying the Durupinar Formation in Eastern Turkey. He’s always known that this was the resting place of Noah’s Ark…and this year, he is finally able to prove it to the world.

Meryl Streep is a brilliant actress. That isn't the point. C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as Christ. Male. He. The Son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea. Netflix has chosen a woman to give voice to that explicitly male Christ figure. This doesn't happen in a cultural vacuum. For years, Hollywood has been deliberately breaking the connection between biological sex, gender and identity, particularly in stories presented to children. Male becomes female. Female becomes male. And eventually the audience is expected to pretend there are no differences. As if they weren't there. Now that treatment has reached Aslan, one of the most recognizable representations of Jesus Christ in children's literature. This is not “artistic vision.” This switch from male to female of a representation of Christ in literature is both disrespectful of C.S. Lewis' original work and and the man himself. At what point does “inclusion” become the deliberate erasure of the source material, and a mockery of the Christian faith at its center?

I can't stop laughing. No face coverings except Burka's, so this legend turns up in Portsmouth identifying as a gender fluid Muslim woman. This is brilliant. Give this man a knighthood. 🤣

As a father to 4 girls, my hatred for feminism grows stronger by the day. It is pure POISON to the mind. They literally HATE God's design for marriage, having children, and motherhood. They hate everything that is beautiful and actually feminine. I am glad though, that it has the inherent fatal flaw of low organic replication. The only way for it to spread is through TV shows, movies, books, social media, and the education system. This is why homeschooling is more important now than ever. Fathers especially, must be extremely discerning as to what they allow their daughters to consume while under their care. My personal strategy for my home and my children is to practice Psalm 101: "I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes."

There are so many stupid sayings in Bitcoin that teach people to be lazy and compliant. “Everything is good for Bitcoin.” “Bitcoin is inevitable.” “No one can change Bitcoin.” They all mean the same thing… relax. Do nothing. Bitcoin will protect itself. That creates a “free-rider problem”. Everyone benefits if Bitcoin stays decentralized and censorship-resistant, but only the people who actually defend those properties pay the price: time, money, risk, public conflict, reputational attacks. Everyone else waits, assuming they will get the protection either way. Combine that with social engineering that makes dissent personally costly, anyone who challenges recognized authority is mocked, isolated and made socially radioactive, until even associating with them feels embarrassing to the weak minded and people begin policing the boundary themselves. And then there are people who anthropomorphize - almost deify- Bitcoin, as if it has agency, a survival instinct and some supernatural ability to protect itself. If you’re excited about bitcoin and used to stupid arguments from fiat land it’s easy for the brain to do this. Free-riding produces passivity. Social punishment makes it self-enforcing. Meanwhile, defending Bitcoin is a diffuse interest. Exploiting it is concentrated, coordinated and highly profitable. That is how a small organized minority defeats a large passive majority.
I want people to really think about how stupid and downright insane the phrase "Everything is good for Bitcoin" is. It's a technology that seeks to separate money from state and prevent the entire parasite class from stealing almost everything from >99% of the planet. This means there is huge incentive by the most powerful people on earth to destroy it by any means necessary. And Bitcoin is not magically immune to every one of their tactics. The most successful to date has been infiltration and subversion and it is everywhere for those willing to look. BIP110 is an expression of an uncaptured network, and its opposition was purely and revealingly concerned with the artifacts of that. Do we need large OP_RETURNs or upgrade hooks for a new op code before Sep 27? Or OP_IF in taproot or an address type not used in over a decade? No - we just don't want upgrades from non-technical, non-economic users that lack consensus as that cannot be *permitted*! So now we are left with the "Bitcoin is permissionless, so you have to let people turn it into file storage" bros becoming irate that we are leaving, once again without permission. The unsalvageable dumspter fire that we spent the last three years fighting, in public, for no-brainer upgrades to, is captured. This has been demonstrated, again clearly to everyone willing to look, as it has become impossible to make progress unless working within the appropriate political channels rather than operate forthrightly in public. That is just another fiat system. Decision making was deferred to captured industry players. Those entities are incapable of doing what is required to separate money and state as they require the state's permission to exist.

During the altcoin-scam years, “we’re all on the same team against fiat” became such a cliché that Bitcoiners learned to treat the phrase as an attack. And for good reason. Yet all of these remain true: 1) Satoshi opened a Pandora’s box 2) The idea is here to stay 3) No one can stop it from respawning in various forms 4) Most respawns will be scams 5) A few won’t be 6) One of them will kill fiat Some will use the immaculate-conception argument against this. But remember: soft forks and hard forks are a part of that immaculate conception. If they weren’t, then the immaculate conception ended in 2011.

🚀Official Launch: Bit-Block Bitcoin Client & Knots Legacy I am pleased to announce the completion and public release of two important Bitcoin software projects: 1. Bit-Block – A Belgian anti-spam Bitcoin client Bit-Block is an official fork of Bitcoin Knots (based on the v28/v29 lineage) featuring: - Fully rebranded GUI and client identity - Strict anti-spam defaults by design (datacarriersize=0 enforced, rejection of non-Bitcoin tokens and asset overlay protocols) - Fee subtraction from transaction amounts enabled by default - Full customization of settings (as flexible as Bitcoin Knots) - Enhanced security (input sanitization against command injection and path traversal) - Optional faster Initial Block Download via Libbitcoin-style trusted checkpoint method - Support for high-entropy SeedSigner-style dice-roll wallet generation Bit-Block is built for node runners who want strong spam resistance out of the box while retaining complete control. Download & details: bit-block.org/bit-block-bitc… Source: github.com/DimiH2025/Bit-Blo…. 2. Knots Legacy – Preserving Bitcoin Knots for the legacy chain In recognition of the significant history and utility of Bitcoin Knots (maintained by Luke Dashjr), I have forked the latest non-RDTS version and established Knots Legacy. This project ensures continued maintenance and availability of a robust Knots-based client for users who remain on the original Bitcoin chain (the chain not following any Proof-of-Work transition associated with BIP-110/RDTS). The deliberate naming as “Knots Legacy” respects the original project’s branding and legacy while clearly distinguishing this independent stewardship effort. Co-maintainers familiar with the Bitcoin codebase are warmly welcomed.Repository & details: bit-block.org/knots-legacy/ Source: github.com/DimiH2025/KnotsLe… projects are developed in my personal spare time as a contribution to the Bitcoin community. Documentation is available on the respective pages (please report any issues via the GitHub security policy). These releases prioritize user choice, spam resistance, and continuity of proven tools. Feedback, testing, and collaboration are invited.Thank you to everyone who has followed the development. — Dimitri-H Bit-Block.org

“This notwithstanding, an unbinding summary is that the miner-node division is both an unintended consequence of the poor design and inept implementation of Bitcoin by its original author as well as the single known possible threat to its continued survival.” Bloody heck. Mircea Popescu saw this coming.
Replying to @oomahq @Beautyon_
He definitely knew that the miner-node division driven by Stratum was a fatal flaw of the implementation of Bitcoin (not the theoretical design), and threw out a few ideas to reverse it. web.archive.org/web/20241226…

The revealed flaw in Bitcoin's design is... Miners have choice. Miners can choose to reject transactions, and they can choose to reject versions of the reference client. This flaw alone gives them total control over the network, forever.

In 2000, Michael Saylor claimed MicroStrategy was wildly profitable—until an SEC investigation revealed the company was actually losing money. When MicroStrategy restated its financials, the stock plunged 62% in a single day and eventually collapsed over 99% from its peak, erasing billions in shareholder value. Saylor paid over $8M to settle civil charges. Don't ignore history when evaluating corporate financial models.
