I am the kind of person who always believes that something is better than nothing for our state Odisha. The Odisha government recently built a state of the art tech park in Bhubaneswar, at Damana Square. 25 acres of solid, modern infrastructure. So the Odisha government and administrative leadership planned the Meet Odisha roadshow at Odisha Connect 2026. 7 October at Hyderabad 9 October at Bengaluru Theme is explore the ecosystem of Odisha . Discover the opportunity. Invest in Odisha. It is a good initiative. There is nothing wrong with doing a roadshow and marketing nationally, especially in the southern states ecosystems. However, Odisha needs to dream bigger and promote itself internationally. In today’s fast paced AI world, if we only do roadshows in cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru, what benefits will we really get? Maybe a little excitement and a few service oriented tech companies. Our vision should be bigger. Why can’t we do roadshows in Warsaw, Barcelona, Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Singapore, Tokyo, or major cities in the USA? If we cannot do full roadshows, why can’t we advertise on their buses and metros the way @svembu company Zoho does? We are already spending money in Hyderabad and Bengaluru why can’t we do the same in emerging cities around the world? We need stronger expertise in marketing and promotion if we want to compete with major Indian cities and fill our tech parks. Our vision and ambition should be world class. In 2026, doing a roadshow only inside Indian cities to promote our infrastructure does not make much sense for a state that aims to build a solid ecosystem and strong intellectual capacity. We need to think outside the box, connect with experts, and make our state world class. Otherwise, we can take these good first steps, but the scale and growth will never reach their full potential. Since decades we are holding our potentials and somehow lost in every phase we should not do the same mistakes again and again. Odisha should rise and scale with a visionary approach and leadership, average will never give us fruitful end result.
