A flood has destroyed the town of Salleri in Nepal's Gorkha district early this morning after days of heavy rainfall. This is Nepal's third devastating flood in 6 weeks, a consequence of human civilization altering the flows of water on earth by heating it up with fossil fuels.

Flanagan is correct. Albanese was given a huge majority and he has sold us all out. Albanese, âAppeaser not leaderâ applies to USA, Israel, AI billionaires, fossil fuel corporates, gambling interests, Murdoch media, all at same time. #auspol
Albanese's proposal to water down Australian copyright to appease AI companies is a "terrible betrayal", writes Richard Flanagan in a blistering piece.
"The governmentâs secret proposals on AI copyright effectively amount to handing over our culture to a handful of anti-democratic oligarchs and raising the spectre of Australia becoming a vassal state."
"A government that doesnât understand its nationâs culture is a government incapable of leading the nation."

đ¨ HUNTER VOWS TO KILL YELLOWSTONEâS OLDEST WOLF â HEREâS HOW YOU CAN HELP STOP IT
Yellowstoneâs extraordinary 12-year-old wolf 1090F has survived brutal winters, rival packs, injuries and everything nature has thrown at her.
Now she could be killed simply for crossing an invisible line drawn by humans.
1090F is one of the oldest wolves ever recorded in Yellowstone and Wyoming and a celebrated member of the historic Mollieâs Pack â whose story stretches back to the restoration of wolves to Yellowstone in 1995.
But Wyomingâs wolf hunting season in Wolf Hunt Area 1 opens SEPTEMBER 15.
And one hunter has made his intentions very clear.
Big Piney-area outdoorsman Mitch Gilliam told Cowboy State Daily:
âI plan to be there on Sept. 15.â
And when specifically asked about 1090F, he said:
âIf I see her, Iâll harvest her.â
Gilliam even acknowledges what an extraordinary animal she is, saying that surviving to 12 means she is âobviously a smart wolf.â
But he argues that because sheâs old and declining, perhaps shooting her would be preferable to allowing her eventually to starve or be killed by another wolf pack.
He also dismisses the emotional connection people have developed with Yellowstoneâs famous wolves:
âItâs not a cartoon character; itâs a wild wolf.â
Gilliam has previously publicly defended Wyomingâs wolf-management policies and advocated removing federal Endangered Species Act protections for wolves across the Lower 48.
He also organised a counter-demonstration against protesters campaigning over the infamous Cody Roberts wolf case and said he had subsequently become friends with Roberts.
Now Gilliam says he intends to hunt in the region where Mollieâs Pack has been travelling.
And he isnât the only one.
A Nevada social-media account called Kyri Ranch has also publicly targeted 1090F, reportedly declaring:
âThe matriarch 1090F is going down on the 15th of September.â
Thankfully, most of Mollieâs Pack has now returned inside Yellowstone. But wildlife managers warn that these wolves could cross the park boundary again.
The moment 1090F crosses that invisible line during the hunting season, she becomes vulnerable.
đ¨ SO WHAT CAN WE ACTUALLY DO?
The Wyoming Game & Fish Commission is the wildlife policy-making authority in Wyoming, and campaigners are demanding an emergency temporary closure of Wolf Hunt Area 1.
EMAIL THE COMMISSIONERS:
Mark.Jolovich@wyo.gov
Rusty.Bell@wyoboards.gov
Kenneth.Roberts@wyo.gov
John.Masterson@wyoboards.gov
Fonzy.Haskell@wyoboards.gov
Bill.Mai@wyoboards.gov
Ashlee.Lundvall@wyo.gov
EMAIL WYOMING GOVERNOR MARK GORDON:
Governor@wyo.gov
Tell them:
âPlease immediately close Wolf Hunt Area 1 and protect 1090F and the historic Mollieâs Pack. A 12-year-old Yellowstone wolf should not become a trophy simply because she crosses an invisible boundary.â
You can also SIGN AND SHARE the petition calling for Wolf Hunt Area 1 to be closed for the 2026 season.
And SHARE 1090FâS STORY INTERNATIONALLY.
Public pressure is already reaching Wyoming from around the world. One Wyoming Game & Fish commissioner confirmed receiving messages from across the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
But please keep it peaceful and lawful. Do not threaten hunters, interfere with a hunt or harass individuals. Put the pressure on the officials who have the authority to change wildlife policy.
1090F has survived 12 years in one of the toughest environments on Earth.
She deserves the chance to live out whatever time she has left naturally.
DONâT LET AN INVISIBLE LINE BECOME HER DEATH SENTENCE.
ACT NOW â THE HUNT OPENS SEPTEMBER 15.

Fires are smoldering in Indonesia, which is in a severe and widespread drought. Some of these are tropical peatland fires, which burn slowly, release higher amounts of air pollution, and are notoriously difficult to extinguish.
