The Virtual Race of Remembrance is an amazing 6 hour race raising money for Mission Motorsport, a charity that supports the recovery and rehabilitation of individuals impacted by military service

Only the BBC could devise a funding model where the solution to people not watching your programmes is to charge them for watching somebody else's.
Under this logic, every time I order a Domino's, I should send Pizza Hut £2.50 to support the future of British pizza.
Couldn’t even wait 12 hours could ya??

Unfortunately I foresee this as a way to backdoor/force YouTube watchers to retroactively be liable for a TV Licence.
I WANT to like this, but I have zero faith in the desperate bottomfeeders that are UK TV Licensing for this to be in good faith.
📺 Big news! @BBCNews is now streaming live on YouTube in the UK and U.S.
YouTube is the home for high-quality, trusted news: in the first half of 2026 alone, viewers watched over 18 billion hours of news content on the platform. By using @YouTube's live tools, iconic broadcasters like the BBC can build deep, authentic rapport, bringing global communities together to learn, discuss, and follow history as it happens.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This comes as part of a wider move to expand the license fee charter. An upcoming government white paper will recommend Britons be forced to fund the BBC if they use YouTube, Netflix, Amazon or Disney Plus

All will be worth it though.
