Last Friday, the @SapienceOrg team had the honour of delivering a series of lectures at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) in Yogyakarta, where we also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the university. Imam Anwar Arafat was blessed to deliver the Jumuʿah khuṭbah at UAD as part of the visit. We then travelled to Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) in Solo to deliver further lectures and to sign another MoA. These agreements formalise our shared commitment to work together in serving Islam, strengthening faith, and addressing contemporary challenges facing students and wider society. The topics covered included: • The Islamic response to the problem of evil • The challenges posed by artificial intelligence and how natural and Qur’ānic beauty can heal the heart • Understanding worldviews and how they shape our lives • Lessons from Gaza and what they teach us about faith, resilience, and justice. Alhamdulillāh for the opportunity to build these partnerships and to contribute, even in a small way, to nurturing the next generation of thinkers and duʿāt. @tasleemfahad @ibnArafat

Last Tuesday, the @SapienceOrg team — @tasleemfahad, Fadhli Burhan, @ibnArafat and myself — participated in a seminar in collaboration with the International Islamic University of Malaysia. The full-day programme explored Islam and the philosophy of science, AI, natural beauty, and related themes. Joining the sessions were Associate Professor Dr. Saheed Abdullahi, Deputy Dean Dr. Tunku Mohar, along with selected students and academics. Alhamdulillah, the seminar was a success and concluded with an in-depth Q&A. Fahad Tasleem delivered a lecture on “AI and Beauty.” Anwar Arafat presented “Can Science Disprove God?” I spoke on “A Theo-Philosophical Assessment of al-Iʿjāz al-ʿIlmī and the Multiplicity of Readings Approach.” We also held a productive meeting to pave the way for future collaborations and to further strengthen the relationship between our two institutions.

Congratulations to our beloved brother and colleague @ImranHussein87 for successfully completing and graduating from an MA in Islamic Studies. His dissertation on Muhammad Iqbal's thought will be used for some useful Sapience Institute work. In-shā-a-Allāh.

I am also very grateful to @yaqeeninstitute and @omarsuleiman for raising the bar in their transformative and amazing Ramadan series. It encouraged me, and created the positive competition, to focus on writing a powerful and impactful script. I am also grateful to Ibrahim Aljfout and his team for filming the entire series in one day, and for Ibrahim single handedly editing the videos and developing the b-roll. Alhamdulillāh I have just delivered a presentation on Islamic apostasy laws on @freemonotheist's Blogging Theology channel. It was one of the most comprehensive presentations I have delivered. I defended the normative orthodox position and responded to a whole host of secular and liberal contentions and false assumptions. I would like to thank everyone who helped me with the presentation and the arguments it contained. Watch this space.
