I uploaded a fly brain and GPT-6 Astra into a Vector robot I bought on eBay Vector was supposed to be a desk pet. Now it has a reconstructed fruit fly nervous system running inside it. MaleCNS gives it 166,700 simulated neurons and 25.6 million connections. GPT-6 Astra gives it vision. Astra sees the room through Vector's camera - furniture, walls, doors, objects on the floor - and turns the visual scene into sensory signals. The fly brain processes those signals and chooses where Vector should go next. Astra sees. The fly brain decides. Vector moves. > No joystick > No preset route > No one manually telling it to turn left or right It started roaming around my apartment, stopping in front of furniture, changing direction, and reacting to things in its path. I bought it on eBay because it looked like a cute little WALL-E. Now it has a brain, eyes, and a body. And it keeps looking at me like it knows I’m the reason it exists.

Holy, rumors are spreading everywhere that OpenAI is close to verifying a proof of the Hodge conjecture, while either OpenAI or Anthropic may be nearing a solution to Birch–Swinnerton-Dyer. Both are Millennium Prize Problems that have resisted decades of mathematical research. Verified AI-generated proofs of both would be a historic achievement for mathematics and a remarkable demonstration of AI’s ability to produce new scientific knowledge. And infact show that AI is capable of finding novel and creative solutions.

Defining AGI as whatever runs on the hardware you just sold them is a very strong sales strategy.

In a significant breakthrough for surgical robotics, researchers at Johns Hopkins University have developed an AI system that enabled a robot to successfully perform gallbladder removal on a deceased pig with almost complete autonomy and no direct human control during the procedure. The dual-layer AI model, trained on 17 hours of real human surgical video footage, interpreted live visual input and converted it into precise verbal-style commands (such as “clip the second duct”), which were then executed by the robot. Across eight separate procedures involving 17 distinct surgical tasks, the robot achieved a remarkable 100% success rate, demonstrating advanced real-time self-correction capabilities and only minimal human assistance (primarily for tool changes or occasional adjustments). While fully autonomous surgery on living humans is still years away, this milestone represents a major step forward in the field. The robot’s ability to detect and fix its own mistakes highlights the growing potential of AI to enhance surgical precision and safety. Researchers plan to advance testing to live animal models next, with the long-term vision of developing systems that can reduce complication rates, improve consistency, and help alleviate the workload on surgical teams. Jensen Huang flew to Seoul for four days in June 2026 — and left with deals covering every major Korean conglomerate. SK Hynix, Samsung, SK Telecom, NAVER, Hyundai, LG, Doosan. Over 250,000 NVIDIA GPUs are now headed to South Korea. The KOSPI surged 93% in a year. Semiconductor exports hit $37 billion in a single month. Two Korean companies crossed a trillion dollar valuation at the same time. But is this a permanent transformation — or another memory chip supercycle about to peak and crash? #SouthKorea #NVIDIA #JensenHuang #SKHynix #Samsung #AIChips #HBM #ArtificialIntelligence #TechNews #Semiconductors #KOSPI#AIInfrastructure #Robotics #PhysicalAI #TechInvesting

Which is why you should build a #tech first company, and only #AI second outfit...& not the other way round. All our projects and offshoots will survive without AI
Founder closed a $15m Series A (top tier VC) and 6 months later, plans to return the cash to investors. Feels like long term, Claude will displace the product / erode the value. This is really happening, most people are not talking about it, it’s kinda wild.

But the people with #startups building real useful products struggle to get funded
A man with no working truck convinced Wall Street he had built the next Tesla. His company hit $30 BILLION. All he did was push it down a hill with no engine. > Trevor Milton founded Nikola in 2014, named after the same inventor as Tesla. > The goal was to build hydrogen powered trucks that would make diesel obsolete. He had no trucks. > In 2018 he released a promotional video called Nikola One In Motion. It showed a sleek semi truck accelerating smoothly down an open highway. Investors went wild. > What nobody knew was that the truck had no engine, no fuel cell, and no propulsion system of any kind. > Milton's team towed it to the top of a hill, tilted the camera to hide the slope, and let it roll. > He spent the next four years doing the same thing with words. On podcasts, television and social media. > Investors were told Nikola could produce its own hydrogen. It could not. They were told the trucks were ready for production. They were not. They were told orders were flooding in. They weren't. > In June 2020 Nikola went public. Within days the company was worth $30 BILLION, more than Ford. > Milton's personal stake hit $7.3 BILLION overnight. > A $32.5 MILLION ranch in Utah followed. A record for the state at the time. > In September 2020 Hindenburg Research published a report calling Nikola "an intricate fraud" built on "an ocean of lies." Milton resigned within ten days. > A federal jury convicted him of securities fraud and wire fraud in 2022. Sentenced to four years in prison the following year. > He never went. He was free on $100 MILLION bail pending appeal. > He and his wife donated $3.2 MILLION to Donald Trump's 2024 campaign. > In March 2025 Trump gave him a full pardon. The pardon erased $168 MILLION in restitution to defrauded shareholders. > Nikola filed for bankruptcy the following month, leaving thousands of investors with nothing. The company never had a product. The only thing that was real was the $30 BILLION valuation, the $7 BILLION that landed in his pocket and the pardon that made sure none of it had to be returned.

Half of all planned U.S. data center builds in 2026 are projected to be delayed or canceled. The bottleneck isn't chips or capital, it's electrical infrastructure. And that infrastructure depends heavily on China. Transformers, switchgear, batteries, all those rely on china. China accounts for over 40% of U.S. battery imports and around 30% of key transformer and switchgear categories. Imports of high-power transformers from China surged from fewer than 1,500 units in 2022 to over 8,000 in 2025. U.S. transformer lead times have stretched from 24 months pre-2020 to up to five years today. AI data center deployment cycles run under 18 months. That gap doesn't close with money: Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft are spending over $650 billion this year and it's still not enough. Strangely enough, this is the part of the AI race nobody talks about. Washington restricts chip exports to China while simultaneously depending on Chinese electrical equipment to power the data centers those chips go into. A decade of reshoring rhetoric hasn't built the domestic manufacturing capacity to change that. The real AI bottleneck was never compute. It's power, and the supply chain that delivers it runs straight through the country the U.S. is trying to decouple from. this is what i try to reiterate all the time. Power is the even bigger bottleneck than compute.
