One of my friends called me yesterday to ask for financial assistance.
I told her I didn't have spare cash. The money I have is already budgeted for fuel and some things the children need for school this week.
She tried to convince me to lend her the money, promising to pay me back before Wednesday.
I told her it wasn't about when she would pay me back. I cant give her the money. My car is almost out of fuel, and I don't want to be stranded.
She said, "Okay, no problem."
I was chatting with another friend when she told me that this same lady had complained about my refusal to help her.
According to her, this was the second time she had asked me for money and I turned her down. She said she cant be friends with someone who wouldn't be of any benefit to her.
I was shocked
Honestly, this got me thinking.

Please you are not yet old at 40yrs or even 50yrs!
Some of you feel old once you give birth to one or two kids or get married.
Rock that good clothe
Use that expensive gadget
Keep yourself relevant by learning new things often.
Go out and meet new people, you are not too old to make new friends
Wear that expensive perfume.
Life doesn’t stop after marriage or child birth. Rather we gave our life an extension and a companion.

This tenant in my compound refused to pay the ₦20,000 contribution each tenant made to repair the spoilt Sumo.
He claimed he had no money, yet he ran his generator every night.
We repaired the Sumo and disconnected his water supply.
By 5 a.m. every morning, this man would come out and fetch water from the outside tap in the compound.
My landlord noticed what he was doing and blocked the outside tap.
Now, he is ready to pay the ₦20,000, but my landlord has refused to collect it.
He has resorted to buying water from an aboki who delivers it to him.
One keg of water costs ₦700.

A friend who helped you to pay your rent when your landlord almost threw you out?
He (Kelvin) who lives in PH, was doing well for himself. he had a job but things got messy along the line and he was sacked.
His rent was also due and the landlord had already threatened to throw him out.
He remembered he had a friend who could help him out, so he placed the call and i really turned up and assisted him with the rent.
Few months later Kelvin got another job that pays even better.

Yesterday, I went to my uncle's house to pick up something for my mum. While I was waiting for him, he came in with his business partner, and they sat in the parlour discussing a deal.
As they were talking, the little girl who lives with my uncle brought out a broom and started sweeping the parlour.
Immediately, his business partner stood up and said it was time for him to leave.
My uncle was confused and asked why, since they hadn't finished their discussion or sealed the deal.
The man explained that, in their tradition, sweeping while visitors were around meant it was time for them to leave.
My uncle tried explaining that neither he nor the little girl knew about the tradition, but the man insisted there was nothing he could do.
My uncle begged him to stay and even offered him the wine he had prepared, but he refused.
He told my uncle that if they still wanted to conclude the deal, they would have to meet at his house or office.
He then opened the door and left, leaving my uncle standing there.

Seriously why are most men not comfortable with letting their wives know what they earn?
For me, I think your wife deserves to know.
When your wife knows what you earn it's a relief for you because she won't pressure beyond your earnings. Except you married a dev!l's daughter.
